My First Shop

First of all my name is Taylor I'm 21 years old with an associates degree in industrial engineering. I just bought my first house last month so therefore my first shop that I don't have to share.
Up until now me and my dad had been running 3 side buisiness out of his shop (terribly crowded and inconvenient). So now my side money is coming to my place. I part out vehicles in the side and also buy fix and sell lawn equipment. So here are pics before I took possession of the property pic of the first convoy headed that way ice small back shed for parts inventory (its packed now) lots of tools I've either borrowed or shared over the years I'm buying new now

It's actually detached, and nope junk has no place around here if it's not making me money or being used it's gone. Northeast iowa.

Some in progress pics went to an auction and got some big items to flip but also got some tools I needed. Paid $2.50 for this ladder $1 for this saw $20 for these 6 ton jack stands $2.50 for this hardware and a few other things I needed for around the garage

Couple of comments, you seem to have everything well in control, however white walls=free lighting.

Good compressor choice, I think it's the same model I just bought, made in USA, not that much more than box store imports. Most importantly, I couldn't believe how quietly it runs. Supposed to have a 50,000 hr compressor life. This comment is really for those who don't know about Quincy.

Do yourself a favor, buy an automatic blowdown valve and route it outside and you never have to remember to drain the water. $35 online are good valves. Turns out they are the same valve used for injection service in car wash systems.

My problem with white walls is how badly they show dirt. Yah the 50k hr compressor life is what sold me. I'll look into the valve thanks!

WOW Just WOW Man that's the kind of garage I dream of when I retire and you got it at 21. Congrats man can't imagine how big your next garage/shop will be when you get up in your 50's. I'm stuck in a little two car garage, then again lot sizes down here in south Florida, I'm gonna have to wait til I retire to move to an acre lot and build my dream garage.

I really like that back room I'd use it for my wood shop. That's one bad *** work shop.




Oh I second the white walls paint it it will brighten up the place, If your worried about dirt, paint the bottom 3 feet gray, and a red 6 inch strip and then the wall and roof white. Do it now before you load up the place with more stuff, because by then your not gonna want to move it out of the way to paint. And if it gets dirty... keep a gallon around for cover up those areas

Agreed I do have a shed out back but it's already full unfortunately. One reason I'm hesitant to build more is I dont plan to stay here real long. 5 or so years probably. This winter the mowers will be mowed elsewhere if not sold.
