The other day my dad called and asked if I would help him unload some tools he bought off of a widow. There were some jewels in the piles, but the only one I was interested in was this 1/4" Snap On ratchet. Surprisingly, my dad said to take it.

It was stuck, but in good shape otherwise. I took it home, oiled it, and cleaned it up. It's a nice little ratchet, but not as smooth as I would've thought. Turns out it's only a 20 tooth.

I decided to look into it a little more. It's a model MV70, which was military issue, which is cool, and the date code shows it to be a 1960.

Anyway, I finally have a Snap On ratchet, and something from my dad to hold onto.

The price was sure right..
57 years old, so it should be broke in by now.
That style flip lever is my favorite.

Congratulations on your new-to-you Snap-on ratchet.

With that said, I must caution you. A Snap-on ratchet has a tendency to multiply like a wet Mogwai.
