my first swap meet

My dad and I went to the Pro-formance Swap Meet in Canton today (thanks JC23 for telling me about it!)
It was unlike anything I've ever seen! Picked up a whole bunch of good stuff.

L to R:
Craftsman stickers (2) $1

Armstrong Needle nose $1
Craftsman screwdrivers $2
Craftsman 5/16 nutdriver $1
Snap-on stubbies, found at several booths, 22 bucks total (most expensive)
More Craftsman screwdrivers, $3
Lighting wrench for my buddy $2
Klein nutdrivers that were modified, super cool, $3
Hammer $1

So I spent 38 bucks, plus 5 to get in. Not bad for my first venture.

43 bucks? Not bad at all. I wish I could find these sweet swap meets or even garage sales with nice tools being offered for a few bucks, but no such luck. Good finds though!

I'm gonna see if they can straighten out those needlenose for me at work. The tip is bent...I am sure with some heat it can be fixed!

There are several flea markets in different states that are awesome also. The Rutledge Flea Market in Missouri starts in March and wraps up in November; 2nd weekend of each month. I ahve been going for over 30 years. Sometimes it seems soso and other times great. The trending times have had an effect. I have found literally thousands of deals on tools over the years. Flea markets are a tool buyers dreams but you need to be there early to catch the deals.

The pliers were fixed easily with a brass hammer on the bench vise at work! good as new, my first Armstrong tool!

We have a huge swap meet in Canton TX too...scored a Snap On ratcheting screwdriver in case loaded with bits for $20!!!...and a Snap on clock!!

I love working at a manufacturing company. The Craftsman screwdriver was missing a magnet.
One of the guys gave me a 1/4 inch neodymium magnet. Then I removed the two small roll pins about 1/4 of an inch from the top of the driver (they were keeping the magnet from going all the way down) One of the machinists put the driver in the manual lathe and drilled the shank out a tiny bit. Got the magnet glued in there and now it's good (or better) than new!
