My First Time Using Tool Foam

I'm putting together a box specifically to take to the racetrack, so all the tools need to be somehow secured to keep them from being a mess when I get there. I couldn't find an organizer that I liked for my screwdrivers, so I picked up some tool foam from Sears. The stuff is a pain to work with and it takes forever, but I'm very pleased with the results.

...and before I hear any cracks about the Kleins, I don't use screwdrivers that often, when I do it is usually pretty light duty and I love the handles.

I was thinking about the same thing how thick is the foam? theres a place local to me that sells foam

Im thinking 1 inch thick for the roller box

The stuff I used is about 1/2". Thicker would keep things more secure, but it might be a pain trying to dig the tools out of it.

I use the insulated Klein screwdrivers all the time in my job (HVAC tech), they are perfect for my work. The rubber coated grips are comfortable and insulated, good when working around 480VAC.

Unless they are specifed for having dielectric handles, they are not electrically insulating you.

For cutting foam use a electric knife, it works wonders.

No need to be defensive about Klein screwdrivers. They make good drivers and the Philips tips hold up better than most. I have several old Kleins in my toolbox and use them all the time. I think a lot of people assume they are not premium drivers because they look so "old school". But the simple fact is they are premium drivers and the rubber covers on the fat handles are darn comfortable and very torquey!

I have heard rumors that Klein is rapidly moving production overseas. I doubt this will benefit tool quality.
