That top box looks like the one I had when I was 16 except mine only had two drawers. I bought it new and it served me well for several years until I outgrew it. I still use the drawers as parts trays, but the rest of the box is long gone.

My first rollaround box was a Homak that was very similar. it was a gift from my parents.

They just didn't understand...my dad had tons of tools stored in milk crates and wooden boxes, so I guess he figured something with actual drawers was a step up.

You guys are in luck, I found an ancient picture of my first toolbox :shocking:... I was twelve years old, paid for it myself.

Super cheesy, but they were actually Waterloo Made In USA toolboxes  Served me well for quite a while, and I actually still have and use the bottom box. I used to work on my dirt bike entirely by myself so I bought cheap-*** chinese tools as they became necessary, in which I broke most of. Good times...

Im not home right now, but wait till I post the pic of mine. My dad have it to me when I was 1 year old. Being big into tools himself, it was a very important gift, to him at the time. I still have it, and its very important to me. Can you say injection molded?

I just got my first toolbox 3 years ago and it is still my main box. It is a Clarke HD Plus ball bearing. I'll get pics up later.

Here are couple of pics of my first tool box. I got it when I was 17, as a Christmas present. :canada2:

My first brand new out of the box toolbox looked identical to that one and I wish I had hung onto it (sentimental) instead of giving it to my favorite nephew. (well, sorta)

My very first tool box was a small well used Crafty hip top job from the late 50's-early 60's. I still use it as a grab and go box.

that was my first box also. i gave it to my dad after i got my first craftsman rollaway, i think i was 17 or 18 then. after dad passed away i got the box back, i still have it and it is full of his tools. this thread has reminded me of how things were when i started as a mechanic (nobody called us technicians back then). all you needed was basic hand tools, the shop owners provided test equpment and special tools. 50k later i wonder what happened

My first toolbox was acquired in the mid 70's when I was a kid.
It was a 1 tray blue tackle box from the 50's. The ones with the rounded top and a ruler stamped right into the lid. Grandpa gave it to me. I remember him 'loading' it up from his enormous collection of tools. He just put in a curved claw hammer, slip joint pliers, a screwdriver and some oily hardware to get me started then got a slightly bigger box and did the same for my older brother.
I proudly toted it down the street to the construction site of the neighborhood fort. Even older kids were impressed.
We moved several years later. Only for a year but mom threw away lots of stuff. Included was that little blue box with which grandpa tried to leave some of his greatest generation-ness.:(

Ditto...

I got mine at 16 for vocational school. I'm glad I didn't stick with HVAC though. I think my brother has some misc junk stored in my old box. The bottom was getting pretty rusty from sitting on the garage floor.
