My first do "I ****" post

Was at a job today where the contractor is remodeling/renovating one part of an existing building. They demo'ed a masonry wall revealing a little cubbyhole in which sat a little dusty dirty 2-door mobile cabinet. I've been working on this project for over a year so I know the guys pretty good. They scrap-out everything made of metal so I only had my eye on the casters. To that end I said hey if you don't want them I'll grab those wheels before you scrap that cabinet. He had a couple of guys put the cabinet in the back of my truck and later he said don't worry about bringing it back if I can use it. Now this thing was pretty nasty so when I got home I spent an hour scrubbing it up and voilà...that looks a lot like a Jamco 36Wx18Dx35H stainless steel mobile 2-door cabinet. According to their web site it has a 1200 Lb capacity.

This may kill you...on the inside, taped to the bottom of the top...yep...the two original keys!

So I ask, does this qualify as a "U ****" find? :)

Now all I need is stainless steel 36" wide top-chest to set on it. A 32" or 34" wide top chest would do nicely. On the other hand I could have the body painted red, and the doors painted black and get me nice red/black middle-chest and top-chest.

We really need a to sign a waiver before allowing members to join, which would include a "no self suckage clause." The OP has been here for over 3 years, and I find his behavior to be unacceptable to say the least....:boxer:

Well as near as I can tell the original title of the thread can not be changed so we'll have to get over it...

I'll try to muster some remorse as I bask in the immense light reflected from what appears the nearly brand new shiny dent-free finish on this cabinet. Don't think I'll get very far with that though as I'll mostly be daydreaming about it's future mating with a shiny new top-chest.

Even though you lost your sought after "U ****" it sure was a nice find. Now tell the truth did you have an idea it might have been a Jamco?

All the new guys please take note.

If you have a post count of over 100, than you should really know better.

This nonsense is really getting old, people needing constant validation. Do you expect a cookie every time you successfully wipe your *** as well?

Had no idea it was a Jamco cabinet when I first saw it. It had a good quantity of dried on gritty greyish dust. I was afraid it was dried mortar or concrete splash and that it would be a bee-outch to get off. But it washed up like a champ and polished up nicely with some spray-on stainless steel polish/cleaner.
