my first welding table

hi to all that read my post, after reading lots of post for welding tables I decided to make my own using ideas I picked up from other builds and to use an old tool box I had since high school.

Very nice. What was the purpose of cutting those slots? I don't see where they're used.

thanks for the comments, it was a fun build. The slots are for table extension for handling longer stuff. comes out 4+ feet adjust up or down. turned all the knobs out of some aluminum I had lying around.

thanks, I decided to do first project on it and built a quick welding cart for my tig, my only regret was not doing build with my new miller 252, welds so much nicer than the Hobart 185

Love the extensions. Need to find some scrap that will receive 50x50mm tube... dont want to buy a 6metre length..

I am into table for about 700 Canadian for everything I already owned tool box so its not in that total. this was my first real project I have just in the last year acquired the tools and shop to start messing around. next I need to make a press brake to fit in my shop press to bend some thicker gauge steel plate for a different project that im working up to.
