I bought this today at the flea market, don't even look like a socket has ever been on it. I was going to sell it but I like it to much, lol. $10.00 there was two of them I only wish I had bought both of them.
I can tell from the pic that the polish on that is beautiful.
That is based on the Indestro Super. I have a super in that configuration, except mine has a round handle. It is a very heavy, well made, good feeling ratchet.
Made by Indestro, Duro Chrome had a version as well. I've got a few but the one pictured below is one of my favorites, got it at the factory back in the 60's, they're a pretty good ratchet.
Gotta agree that those round head Duro-Indestro produced ratchets are real nice. $10 for decent one that works smoothly is an ok/average deal, but for that one it's great!
Fleabay-wise, it only takes two who really want it to drive the price up, otherwise I personally don't see much of a steady "collectible" demand for Wizard - mostly seems to be hit 'n miss, depending on how many stumble on them at the time. Picked up a heavily flogged one at the flea mart once from a tool seller who has wildly fluctuating ideas on "value" - I stopped her at "that's a collectible one" and just said I'd best leave it for a collector then, and quickly gave her the asking price of $6 or so for the very nice Plomb pebble grain ratchet in my other hand. Last time I was by there, that beat Wizard was still waiting for a "collector"...
I have a Wizard socket set I bought from Western Auto back in the 60's. The ratchet is a pearhead though. I think it has about 10 teeth, lol (actually about 24)
man David that's nice. did you get it at webster? i went there monday and the only guy that had tools was WAY overpriced on his stuff. i passed on an identical wizard ratchet for $10, it was beat to ****.
Great looking ratchet. I've got a few Wizard tools in my box. My first bicycle came from Western Auto, so they are not only good tools, but they bring back good memories.

Those Wizard ratchets are a great ratchet, I have had one for aboout 10 years and after many cheater pipes and probably 350ft lbs of torque on some occasions it still works. Sadly it is getting pretty worn out but it has earned its place in the Snap On box.
