My floor is "corroding"!

Hoping you can help me.
The photo attached shows my 25 year old garage floor and the "erosion" or "corrosion" that is happening.
I've been building a new race car and when filling up the cooling system it seems the concrete didn't like having a coolant/water mixture sitting on it for a day or so. The coolant is for alloy engine blocks so I assume it's alkaline and not acid but looking at the floor now you could be forgiven for thinking it's acidic.
Can you suggest what to neutralise the concrete surface with to arrest the damage?
While I'd love to create a fantastic floor with a coating or epoxy the cracks already there mean I'm hoping to lay vinyl tiles sometime in the near future and don't want this surface failure to continue.
All suggestions welcomed.

What coolant are you using ?? I would almost think that the damage was already there and you didn't notice it till the coolant got into it ? Almost looks like moisture from below. As far as neutralizing it I would think that a batch of baking soda mixed with water should do the job.

Thanks for the advice guys.
With the baking soda do I just mix with water - ratio? - and brush it into and over the floor before rinsing off? How long do I leave it on before rinsing?

Hi Simon. As a fellow 6-Pack'er I was sorry to see your 6 go - I always loved that car - and I'm sure AL is taking great care of it.
The new place is coming along great and I admire your tenacity.
The photo of my 6 was when it was a Master Class Concours trophy winner a few years back and it's going to get a body off refresh next year before I retire and then it's going to get much more use because stone chips really are the best trophies.

Thanks Tom.
I know of one guy who went to see a TR4A advertised for sale and when he got there it was actually a TR5 (a 250 with factory fuel injection).
He tried to tell the vendor that his ad was incorrect but in the end he purchased the 5 ($$$) for 4A ($) money. Win! :rocker:
Why can't we all get so lucky?

Thanks all. I'll give the baking soda a try.
