I'm just wondering, can you buy inexpensive tile like this then put down a coat of urethane over it to protect it and shine it up?

You thinking u want some VCT? You could use a standard floor wax. Buff and recoat as needed. We have some guys that come in the office every six months and do this for .30 a sqft.

Not really for the garage. When we had this house built, we went with a composite hardwood floor that only has 1/8th inch of real hickory. It shows dirt, dents and the dogs scratch the heck out of it.(reminds me of something)
I also have some of this around my bar and was thinking to seal it with a floor varnish or a 2 part something or other.
