So I met my wife's friend from HS and her husband. We got to talking about his property and how the prior owner was a machinist. He told me he lift some tools and what not. Then asked if I could use them. I said it depends and he told me he had a heavy "drill press" I said " hell I will take a look"
This is what I found.

Did you post the wrong picture? That is a ram type radial drill press. Very versatile, but not great for heavy drilling. Great price.

Yeah I was excited and really quick to post. Either way it's free and bad ***. Not at my place yet(heavy as hell) I can disassemble the top/base and legs. Might make it easer to transport.

Zkling has it right! Not a mill, but a style of radial drill press. Even though the ram looks stout, once extended it has too much flex to be any good in heavy duty or precision drilling service. But, super-useful for light to moderate drilling due to the *********** available and big table!

Definitely a cool score!

I've always been hoping to find one of those at a reasonable price, but for free and with the base, that's beyond suckage.

Thanks guys! Yeah I was not expecting to find this with his description he gave me. Yet alone have it given to me. I know I ****. I cleared a spot near my 220 outlet for it last night in my barn. This turned into an all out cleaning of my barn. Killed one bat too!

I recently sold one. Walker Turner did the original design. Best used for wood drilling due to the above-mentioned flex. Incredibly useful for woodworking, but space-hogs.

Just used a walker-turner one and it was sweet, besides the slight flex it drilled though 1-5/8 stainless steel with ease.

you ****!!!

I wanted one of those so bad I paid big bucks for this one:

It's an EDM but made from the same base system. I want to convert it to a regular radial DP just like yours (but with my heavy base). If you do a resto on it make sure you take lots of photos so I can see what I'll need tot convert mine back to a radial DP.
