Answered a Freecycle ad for (3) Saws, with a single poor photo.

Borrowed a trailer, and went to pick them up yesterday. Wasn't sure what they would be like.

The RAS looks just like the one on the cover of the 1959 Sears Tool Catalog, and appears to be almost unused.

The Table Saw is older, also making an appearance on the Sears Tool catalog cover, in 1950.

There were a couple of extra pieces, a "Rout-A-Signer" pantograph with a full set of templates, and a drill stand/drill press attachment, along with some miscellaneous drills and other tools in the 2-drawer cabinet that came with the RAS..

I am trying to find the instructions for the Jointer/Planer attachment, though it seems pretty self-explanatory.

Geez, the RAS and the table saw are both really good looking pieces. I like the original base cabinet on that RAS!

Does anyone know if it is possible to date the saws by serial number? As I wrote above, the RAS is featured on the front cover of the 1959 catalog, but that base cabinet does not seem to be in that catalog-I did find one that looks very much like it in a mid-sixties catalog....

I am sure someone here will know these. We have at least one fellow is knows A LOT about Craftsman saws and equipment from this period.

I should not have assumed the base was original; hasty on my part.

The RAS is 1959ish, the stand is 1969ish. Pegboard holes in the stand show up in the 1969 catalog, my 1966 catalog the same stand the door is smooth
