My garage build progress. first timer over here

whats up guys, my name is carlos. been in a house for 3 years now but didnt have a garage so im finally doing it. check out the pics below and lemme know what u think. its tough cuz i only have the weekends but little by little ill get there. as of now im 1 month in and i poured the concrete today. it will be an 18x30, 10 ft walls nd will eventually have a lift. any comments are appreciated. i started by cutting down trees, rented a bobcat, ripped out stumps, graded, dug the footing by hand cuz im an idiot, framed it out and poured today

Hi Carlos, I'll be the first to say it looks like you have a nice start and cudos fou getting your hands dirty and doing the gruntwork in the process. My garage isn't half as big as many here, but I wouldn't trade it for (almost) any other one because it was built with my own sweat equity as well. Keep us posted with the progress.

You said you plan on a lift. What style? Have you verified what the ceiling height is needed for the lift you want? What PSI and thickness did you pour the slab?

As far as concrete goes, I went with 3,500 with fiber mesh, it's 4 inches thick, as far as the lift is concerned, I'm
Not positive on exactly where I want to mount it so I will just cut the floor where I want it and go down about 2feet and fill fill with rebar and a higher psi concrete, the walls will be 10ft with scissor trusses, we just finished installing a lift at my brother inlaws house so I'm basing it off of that, it will have the small hump on the ground rather than overhead,

Lookin' good, I hope you put some steel in the ground other than the hold down bolts. What I would have done different with my build is go with the 2 x 6 walls, and went with a higher pitched Gable roof or a Gambrel roof for more storage.

Yessir I did, two rows of #4 rebar around the bottom about 6 inches up from the ground and another two rows of #6 bars about 8 inches from the top

The walls will be 2x6, I'm only allowed to have 14 feet to the peak so 10 ft walls and that leaves me 4ft for the pitch, lol I hope that's right

Carlos you are one bad muther. I am burnt out on my build and I don't think you will ever burn out, mines 32x54x11 post shed.
