It's been a long time since I posted progress pics, it's tough with a 22 month old. I still have alot to go, mainly interior work, lighting and finishing the ajoining bar lounge area. Items completed to date are all the exterior detailed molding and trim work.

Great job Ragtop! :thumbup:I'd say you've met one of your primary objectives...if I hadn't read this thread, I would have thought the new addition was original to the house. EXCELLENT job tying it in with such a beautiful older home! Can't wait to see some of the work on the interior.

Wow.... that's an amazing view, house, lot, etc. Like the above poster, had I not seen the before pictures, I'd never know it was an addition. The attention to detail is beautiful. I really like the white/green and to be able to build a new garage and patio at the same time is really neat.

the greatest harbor in the world --- i worked those ships
once on a sticklighter called the Twin Tube. came out of Reynolds Shipyard
over on front street & you would be off of Victory Blvd. Turecamo, McCallister, & Moran ---
tugs plying their crews & black powder stacks 'cross your line of sight ---
maybe these days the tug colors are different.
things have changed for them i am sure. my Captain was a Croatian.
hard to call this Croatian madman an immigrant . . . i think the oceans
wombed him to this side of the planet. i don't think his family line knew
anything but the curve of the earth over the last viewable wave . . .

beautiful homes and vistas to match. i never thought a Hemi guy would
be living up there . . . . . . . .
nice do.

still visit as my best friend owns Raffo Construction, but due to the economy
situ he has immersed himself & his talents elsewhere. was just there this
past december for a nice visit. ate at Sylvias --- great food.

Bay Street was my home. Rosebank with my brownstone directly across
from Peck's bar & Vincent Gilardi's produce distributing.
life was an unbelievable 10 years for a wheat plucking guy from the midwest.

thank you for your posting & beautiful efforts to your home,
a nice homecoming for me.

Hemi,

I have to echo the accolades; you did a magnificent job integrating the addition onto the original house. The whole thing looks like it grew there. I also love the patio and the view.

What a small world! I know the Raffo's, in fact he was suppossed to do the concrete work but it didn't work out, secondly, Silva is my wife's & I dear friend, we see her almost everyday!! If you are ever around please feel free to knock on my door...I'm serious.
All the best,

Well quite a nice garage you have built there. I am going to have to ask for a tour of your collection, man it looks like you have some beautiful and rare iron.

It would be my pleasure, if your ever in my neck of the woods, LMK. (S.I.N.Y)
Forget touring the garage, we will take them out and abuse my neighbors doing burnouts!

Hello all. Wow I haven't been on this site in a long time so I figured I would pst some more pics of the garage. Finally the outside is done! I still need to finish up the inside of the garage, but between work and family I will have to chip away a little at a time. Hope you enjoy the photos.

Magnificent!!!

That about sums it up. When I saw the first post I almost hit the back button because I thought, what could possibly be done to that house, garage-wise, that's worth my time to read. This was definitely worth the time. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for your kind words. This project has been a labor of love. I still have a lot to go inside the garage, but I'm really excited about it's potential. I'm designing the inside of the garage to match the inside of the house which, when finished should look like an extension of the entire house. I have space planned the best I can considering it's an older home with smaller rooms. There was a bar that came with the house that was from the Algonquin hotel, NYC, so basically the entire basement will be focused around the era/style of the bar (Hollywood regency style) circa 1930's. I'm lucky to be married to a self taught incredibly talented interior designer, who should get all the acolades for the interior design. I designed the entire garage addition along with carefuly plannig out the interior/exterior usability of the space. I'm glad you all enjoy the progress. This site has been instrumental in helping me plan out my garage. This is the Florida room directly above the original garage. It's fully restored with plaster ceilings and mahogany paneling. The antiques are all original French Empire (a mix of Empire the first and second period) Ranging from the 1820's to 1880's. The day bed in the background is Napolean the first era (1790's-1810)
