Hi All, I have been lurking this site for YEARS, finally joined up formally.

The main reason is to share with you my garage journey. I am going to be focused on building a dedicated youtube channel and crowdsourcing ideas for the garage, so I can make as few mistakes as possible.

If any of you have garage channels on Youtube please let me know so I can subscribe and support the community.

Layout is my first challenge as I want metal working and wood working to be easily deployed on demand in the space.

I would say another challenge is corners, how to effectively use them.

Not sure if you can see , but the way the black cabinets come to that green topped work bench there is a corner space. I am stuffing metal scraps there now but will move it....

What do you guys do with corners? hard to use as a work surface, are there stationary tools that are good for corners like a stand up drill press or will I find myself with out room for a work piece?

Any ideas are welcome. Curious to learn from others experience.

My goal is to have nearly everything on wheels so I can rearrange the pieces.

The black cabinets are nice and narrow in depth so I think that wall will need to keep them there.

Which makes me wonder how to leverage an awkward corner?

Thanks!, yes she is pretty awesome, I have some good garage footage of us building a lathe stand on wheels. As a journeyman welder yes she works the stick... let the jokes fly I know I know ..

Really though, she is teaching me TIG and it is a lot of fun. We want to have this garage at the top of the charts when we are done.

I have another few videos about shoehorning a lathe in. The lift was sketchy as hell, I thought it would fall on my Viper (1995 RT) for the Mopar fans

As for size I am in in not bad shape (the innuendo continues) much better equipped than the those european blokes. I feel bad for them that they have such tiny units.

Since that video I have cleaned up the electrical and wired in a 240 single phase for the Lathe.

The light I was going for recessed to give it a "Showroom" style feel, you know to show off the mess

Maybe I'll post the lathe vids next.
