I just recently found this forum. Not sure how I went so long without finding this awesome place.
But I figured I’d share my garage with you guys. I bout the house 5/2019. So these pics will range from 5/19-1/2020
First pics will show how I bought the house. Not sure how the previous owner made it 16 years with one light bulb and one socket in the garage. This obviously wasn’t going to be enough for me.....
My first mission was the floor before I lived anything at all into the garage. I began with acid etching after a thorough cleaning. Then came the epoxy floor. It’s all turned out really good in my opinion.....
Then came lighting. I installed led lights in place of the one single light bulb that was previously installed. Night and day difference for sure......
Then came insulation, electrical, and lining the walls. Of course at this point I had moved into the house and the garage was completely full of everything that was supposed to be in the garage but had no where to be.
Each wall got its own 20 amp circuit. I also wired in a 220 plug to be able to plug my generator in and installed a 100 amp sub panel for the entire garage
The walls got a coat of gray paint, which matches the floor a little more than I’d like. But that’s changed easily enough in the future
Then I started building my shelving system. Nothing fancy. Just practical for me
Then came the work bench and tool box
After the shelves were built I was able to start organizing. Wanted to show off I could fit my truck in once again
Then came the storage for the 4- wheeler. Didn’t want to waste all the space above it. Some came up with this design until I get my shed built
Then came some more storage and a TV
Then the heater
Air compressor setup initially. It’s been changed since this pic. And my peg board during the early stages.
Then I installed a ladder to the attic. Initially I had to use a ladder every time I wanted to get up there and then when I was up there it was all open stud. So I took advantage of cutting the hole for the ladder to be installed and put some 4x4 sheets of plywood up there before I installed the ladder
This is pretty much how it looks today. Tomorrow I will get some updated pics as I am prepping the garage for winter tomorrow
I am curious to hear others opinions. I am very proud of what I turned this garage into. And it keeps getting better
