After a ton of research and going back and forth between vendors, I decided to order from Legacy Industrial. My order took longer to arrive than I had planned, but as it turned out, I had a bunch of other house projects to get to, so I will be doing the bulk of the work this weekend.

So far:

• degreased, scrubbed, cleaned floor
• prepped floor with diamablade
• epoxy sealed cracks (twice) with Crack-Pac

Next steps, as far as I know:

• diamond grind (4.5") sides I couldn't reach with diamablade, and also flatten epoxy over cracks
• remove all dust from floor
• prime floor
• epoxy coat floor
• apply flake
• apply clear
• enjoy

Did the primer last night. A few notes:

• whatever company's products I read that said there was no smell, it was definitely not this one. Respirator use is mandatory and I didn't. Product had been mixed and I couldn't find it, so I assumed having the doors open would be enough. Ugh.
• product covered very well - the first gallon/half of product covered almost all my 3 car garage except for a small section, leaving me wondering if I either applied too thin, or bought too much. My plan is to cover the remaining unprimed area, then probably reprime over any areas that look thin and spread the product around. I will also do more of the stem walls.
• woke up this morning and realized I did another stupid thing, besides leaving my phone on the workbench which I couldn't reach since the floor was wet. I realized that when I left, I closed the garage doors, and I'm guessing the door seal will be glued to the floor this morning!

make sure to get a helper, you can do it alone but things like the phone will happen that can be avoided with two minds.

My son was going to help me but I don't want him anywhere near those fumes even with a mask. Did the rest of the primer this morning, covered the bare area then went over the whole garage a second time (since I had it open).

The supplied roller sleeve was shedding little bits of whatever it's made of on the first pass. Had to pick those out of the floor and used a normal 3/8" roller on the second pass.

Oh - the door opened just fine, the rubber gasket did leave a bit of a mark there but I scraped any residue off and the 2nd coat of primer made it a non issue.

Primer coat (2 coats really) completed. The primer alone is super shiny and thick.

Did 1/2 the garage last night with epoxy and flakes. Dark picture, shot from under the garage door opening.

Yes, a respirator is a must for epoxy preparation and application. My wife helped me and we both wore respirators and googles. The poly was the worst!

I think I'm done.
After applying the flake to the left side, I went on to do the right side of the garage. I had just enough material to cover everything (I still might try to get a bit more to do the stem walls and fix a couple of small misses).

After letting it dry, I went over the floor with a rag to dislodge any loose flakes, then blew the floor clean with a leaf blower.

I mixed up the two part urethane, and oh man does it smell. Even with a respirator, I could smell it. The smell actually went into the house via the access door until I covered the gap with a towel, but by then it was pretty bad. Fortunately we're not living there yet.

Checked it again this morning and it was perfectly dry but still stinky. The urethane has a slight yellowish tint to it. I was debating if I should do a 2nd coat but given the smell, I think I'll pass.

No major mistakes that I know of, my cracks were covered pretty well overall. A little uneven here and there with the flake distribution, and I missed a couple of small spots in corners but otherwise I think it looks really good.
