Nice place, you must live in bug central Ohio. Went on vacation to an uncle's place on a lake near Marion. I've never seen so many bugs in one place.

Looks like a cozy little place, simple and effective. What do you do for heat if any? Have you considered adding any flourescent lighting in place of the floods?
I don't have any heat yet. I just (sorta) finished the inside walls this summer and I don't have a ceiling in yet. So, I am trying to decide what kind of heat to use. I did think about putting flourescent lights in. Right now I have 16 flood lights- most of them are 100 watt. It makes for a bright evening.
But I did want to get some flourescents in once I decide where I want to have my final workbench area. I will probably put a fold down (against the wall) bench on the side where the Vette is now. I only have a one car garage at the house which is where I have been keeping the Impala this summer. So, I'll have to figure out what goes where pretty soon.

I live down between Cincinnati and Dayton. There is a river (Great Miami) about 1/8 mile away. I usually have a bug zapper going in the evenings. It helps.

The garage is on a cement slab that is about 44X24 and as you can see, it used to be a basketball court that my dad put in when I was a kid back in the 50s. The garage takes up about one half of it and the crack is not bad inside the garage........... The Corvette - I bought in 1991 and I have only put about 5,000 miles on it in 20 years. I'm not prejudiced, so yes, I have a Ford, too. I always liked the color of this T-Bird. The pictures posted were taken at the same time within a few minutes of each other. But as you can see, it looks like a completely different collor in the sun and the shade. It is called "Sunrise Red" and is one of the things I always liked about it........... The winter pictures were taken last winter. I bought the Impala in the fall of 2009 and I have only put about 3,000 miles on it. I usually drive the T-Bird and my 96 Sunfire. Some of the pictures of the Vette were taken at the Butler County Antique Car Show last Fourth of July. Someone on here wanted me to post pictures of the cabinets that are in the garage a while back. I bought all six of them and two floor drawer/cabinets at a local city wide garage sale for $50.00. It took me three trips to get them home in my Sunfire. LOL!! ...............Yes, that is a trailer hitch on the back of the Vette. The guy I bought the car from had a matching trailer that he and his girlfriend hauled their Harleys on when they went biking. So, I always left it on there........... It took me about two weeks to make the screens for the doors. They are hinged in the middle and are eight feet wide and seven feet tall. After sliding foam rubber underneath them, they are pretty bug free. I had to make a frame out of 2X2s to go around the doors to attach them to. I have them screwed into the frames. So, if I want to remove them, I just unscrew the screws and it falls out and I can fold them in half. They turned out pretty cool. On the end of the bench between the TV and the tall grey locker, I have an Emerson microwave. It is red and the only one I have ever seen like it.

The roll up doors came with the building. When I first had it built in the fall of 2009, it was only a car port with the roof and both sides. The next spring, (last year), I had them come down and finish it by putting the front and back walls and the two doors on. I put the walk through door in myself. My Impala sat out there all that first winter, sometimes getting covered with snow. In order to have seven foot doors, the side walls have to be at least eight feet tall. So the peak of the roof is right at eleven feet. But the roll up doors don't work very well as far as keeping bugs and the cold out because they are curved at the top and don't seal tight against the wall at the top of the door or on the sides. There is about a one to two inch gap on the top. So, spiders and anything else can come right in. That is why I made the screens- they seal right up against the door frame I made and since they are made out of aluminum, I leave them up all the time in the summer. This winter I will probably make solid doors out of 3/4" plywood and put them on hinges to keep the cold out. And I'll probably put windows of some type in them. Then I'll take the screens out and store them for the winter.
