Andamo - The epoxy floor coating comes with chips that you can sprinkle on the floor as you do each section. Because I am in Phoenix, AZ and don't see a whole lot of moisture, I did not use but half of them. So, mine is slick enough that you have to watch your step if the floor is wet. Other people I have known have used all the chips available/or had the floor professionally done, and have had no problems with slickness.
bmwpower - Yes, well kinda. I drive a 2000 Silverado and my wife drives a 2002 325CI.
DynoDave - I did the floor the last weekend in April and the painting of the walls a week later. It is holding up great so far. As far as prep is concerned, I pretty much did as follows.
Here was the process I used.
On Friday I cleared out the garage and stuck everything inside my house or in the backyard. I cleaned out the garage with a brush and an Airblower. I then took a 50:50 bottle of Simple Green and scrubbed any areas that seemed to have any oil residue. My garage floor was very clean anyways so there were not very many stains.
I then rinsed out the garage 2 times with a hose. Instead of using the squeegee that is recommended by Rustoleum, I held a Airblower in one hand and the hose in the other. Whenever I hit an area with water, I immediately followed with the airblower so as to avoid any pooling of water in the Garage.
Then Saturday I went over the entire Garage floor with the included cleaner and a stiff brush. Rinsed twice the same way as above and then waited.
Then Sunday I woke up and got to work in the garage at about 9am. The floor did not take very long to complete. Maybe 3 hours as I finished in time for lunch. It would have gone much faster if I had someone else that could have spread the chips while I painted.
