Hi Stan! Yeah, someone tipped me off to this site, and all summer long I have been pretty much obsessed with building this garage, so its an appropriate place to hang out! Brian hasn't seen it yet, he'll probably give me a hard time about making it too pretty... but thats ok... I actually have a "dirty" garage under my house that I can use for tinkering, and I wanted to make my new garage clean and new inside... I don't know what the numbers for the tile are offhand, but i know the black is available right at Home Depot at any time, but the white was special order... I think its called "polar white" but I may be wrong. If they have an Armstrong color chart it is obviously whiter than the others. As for the drains... be careful, I had too much "dropoff" around the drains when the concrete was poured, and the tile WOULD NOT flex enough to make the transition... my dad and I actually ended up filling in alot fo the drain dropoffs with concrete, then built the lids up with several layers of tile until they were flush with the floor... that was actually the biggest PITA of the whole tile process... Also, make SURE your concrete is smooth as it can be, with no humps or dips... the tile does NOT like to go over less than perfect cement, and mine LOOKED super beforehand, even had a polished surface. I still ended up taking a grinder to some high spots to level it out better, as the concret settled a little after setting up. I agree we need to meet up at the Supercar Workshop one of these days... I haven't been out there in awhile myself, I'm overdue. As for the Prout badge, I think bkh found a source to make exact copies of emblems, without damaging the original... I'd be more than happy to help you out in that respect. Here's a cool shot taken at the Atlantic City NJ Nova show this fall... It was the big block Goodmark Nova (which I drove from Latrobe to NJ... ) my forest green deuce, Tommy K's 2 red deuces, Joe's Dana Nova, Marlin's gobi beige car, and Tommy K's **** Harrell 396 in a "semi-finished" state. The rig belongs to Shor, and made for a pretty cool display... the pic was taken from the roof of the adjacent hotel....

Its all original GM sales promotion stuff, promotional posters from old 60's and 70's Chevy showrooms, etc. I've been searching for the stuff for years, at swap meets, auctions, etc. You can't just go out and pick them up, it takes alot of digging. In fact, I'm still looking for some more because one wall is only about half full. The b&w and color photograph collages are all original snapshots and press photos taken by Don Yenko, of Yenko Chevrolet Supercar fame. They are all photographs that were once displayed in his office. I collect Yenko memorabilia, and for the longest time, i had no good way to display it. Thanks for the compliments, as with anything else, its still a "work in progress", so I will post more pics as i go. I just realized that on April 15th it will be exactly 1 year since we broke ground for the project. i guess thats not too bad for a first attempt at building something.
Finally got some more posters framed and finished decorating today... I hate to use the word "finished" because its never really done... I'm pretty happy with the way iy all turned out though... its a little over a year since I first broke ground for the construction, and to be honest, it turned out almost exactly how I wanted it... a might have done a few small things differently, but overall, I am pleased with my first-ever attempt at building something. Thanks to all the garage junkies here who have helped me out along the way! -JB

Thanks Dave... I'm actually amazed it got finished myself! I guess being totally obsessed with it for a year helped get it done... I wish it was about 3 times as big, but I guess I'd say that regardless... I have another 2 car garage under my house thats more typical, old concrete, block walls, nothing fancy... I was going to epoxy the floor, clean it up, etc... but I think I'm just gonna let it alone so I can have a place to work where I don't have to worry about making a bit of a mess once in awhile.
Looks great all finished up, my garage will be that size also, how is the space inside, doesn't look cramped at all. Great work!
Anymore info on that 'brick' siding, I might do the same with mine, since it'll have lovely CMU foundation, haha.

The "brick siding" was my dad's idea... and turned out to be a very good one. My house is white siding with tan brick along the bottom, and he thought my garage should try to match the house as much as possible. I couldn't afford to hire a bricklayer to case the foundation, which was made of cement blocks, so he got the idea of getting the vinyl brick panels. They came from home Depot, special order, and were actually more expensive than I first figured they would be... i think they were about 400.00 to do the perimiter of the garage, one panel high... (each panel is I think about 3 feet tall, and they interlock. We screwed them directly to the cement with Tapcon screws alson the bottom and top, and the upper edge is hidden by standard vinyl siding J-Channel that we painted to match the bricks. We also put some construction adhesive behind them to prevent warping... the lower edge was cut to fall just below the ground line. We did lay real bricks on the front of the garage when it was all done, and they match the plastic panels nicely. Everything has held up well so far. Looks alot better than painted cinder blocks too.
