Yes, they are the $50 lights fixtures from HD. I also got the chain from them too. I used the Philips T8 Daylight Deluxe bulbs.

I like that those lights are expandable as well which i thought was a cool feature when i bought mine, you know if you ever need more light lol....

Thanks guy's. I'm really happy with the lights so far.
I still have 4 more fixtures to put in too. I separated them into 3 zones so I can have only the zone on that I want. I can't wait to start working on projects in there.

It makes a difference when you have a nice, clean bright area to work. That's how I look at it. :thumbup:

quick q.. do you know how many amps the lights are? i want to put 6 in my garage when we move in (we close in a few weeks). Wondering if i can pull off putting them on the same breaker or how many breakers i need to use....

ok maybe there is a better way to ask this.. how many do you have connected to each breaker and how big are the breakers? think i could daisy chain 6 or so in on circuit, or would that be too many amps, where i would need to break it up into two?

I can't find the amps anywhere on the fixtures or the box.
I'm going to put 8 on a 20amp breaker and was told that would be fine.

perfect. i wanted to do 6 to 8 on one if possible. Dont take possession of the new house til late august but doing the homework now.. if you have any issues doing that, let me know!

Great transformation. I am curious about the lighting.

Is there an advantage of using the chain hung lightning vs mounting the white box frame style light cases directly to the ceiling itself. I guess to clear a garage door that goes up and down would be an advantage. Trying to think of any otheres other than the use of larger / longer bulbs.

its a safety item. the ones with chains come that way because they are too hot or a fire hazard to have directly mounted. the ones that come ready to be mounted directly to a ceiling are designed to do that.

I just think they look more like shop lights than flush mounted one.
I don't really like the look of the flush mounted ones.
I guess it comes down to personal taste.

Congrats on the new house. Very smart to plan everything ahead of time. I changed my mind on a bunch of things several times before I finally settled on what I wanted. I was buying stuff for months before I started redoing the garage.

thanks! i have promised myself not to buy anything til we get in there and have lived with the space for a bit. i did buy an older craftsman bench like yours a year a go -5 drawers on one side and a cabinet on the other side, but it was cheap on craigslist and other than a cheapy tool chest my dad got me when i moved out on my own i really dont have much in terms of tool storage.

my plan is to team this up with some over head cabinets, a tall floor cabinet and a HF 44" box. of course.. i am waiting to buy anything else and that includes lights. but at least i can begin my homework

Picked up a small stainless steel table for the garage today. Nothing fancy, just a place for a couple of stools to go around and a few friends with their beers.

Thanks guy's, I got it off ebay $48.29 with free shipping. They have a round one and a square one. Couldn't pass it up. Now I just have to find stools.

Great table, that will work perfect to hold a few brews. Just grab some black Craftsman stools and your laughing. I think Sears carries them, if not ebay no doubt.

I found these stools that would be perfect. They come in stainless steel or can be powdercoated blue or red.
I just don't know if I want to spend $200 for 2 garage stools though.
Craftsman stools are about $80.

Very cool that's true, but worth it I'm not sure. You could also do what i did, grab some $10 plain wood stools and make them your own with a little paint and a decal.
