The company I got the kit from thins out the plasti dip so you can spray it thru a gun and it lays much better. If anything is taped on the edge, you have to peel it off after the final coat while it's still wet and then it self levels and make a clean edge.

The dip looks great. I've seen some bad dip jobs and yours looks very nice. Maybe next year a satin red could make an appearance. I've always been partial to that color.

Thanks, I think satin white will be next, or, they have a pearl hugger orange that is amazing. I can't make up my mind. Too any options.

Dip looks really nice. You did as good a job as some $1500 shop jobs I've seen. Sprayer looks just like the one Eastwood sells with their brand of dip. Probably do the same to my Chevelle when it's time to hit the track. I'd rather buy tires and safety eqp't than paint right now, anyway

When I started the Camaro project I promised myself that if I didn't know how to do something I would buy the tools and learn how to do it myself. Whatever "it" was.
Well it was time to evacuate the a/c system and add refrigerant. So I read up and watched many youtube video's. Bought the right tools and did it myself.
Started by evacuating the system. Good news, no leaks first time. So in went the refrigerant. Now I have nice cold air. This summer will be a blast, plus I have some cool new tools.

Thanks, just because it's small is no reason it can't be a pleasure to work in. This forum has taught me that over and over again.

Between the gauges & vacuum pump I'm in it for $150. Gauges were on sale for $50. They work great.

Thanks, it has been huge fun and a true learning experience.
I'm glad I am able to be an inspiration to other members because sooooo many other members have been an inspiration for me.

I think that is great you bought the equipment to do your own A/C work. That investment will pay for itself over a little time. It is things of this nature that make us more independent and keep more $ in our own wallets. Plus--hey it just makes you feel good to be able to do your own work. Great job and things are looking very nice around your place.

The car should be high enough to get it under.

I'm sure I read before, but looks like I didn't post since you 'dipped' your car. Looks awesome! That came out really great. My F250 (painted satin black) is about due for some bodywork and paint freshen up, maybe I should look into doing that.

After the hoist, the gearbox jack (mine a full height one for under the hoist) is definitely one of the best tools I've ever bought (well, actually, 'picked up' would be more accurate). I use it almost every time I use the hoist.

Thanks, I'm really happy with the way it came out. I'm just about to start peeling it. I want to do some body work over the winter. I'm just going to wait until I finish the trans swap.

Started the Camaro winter projects last week.
New trans and rear and some more body work.
New tool that will make the trans swap much easier.

As long as you have the car high enough it works great. I wish it was a little lower, but still works great for the money.

Thanks Frank, you're right about getting the car high enough. My car is VERY low so I have to put it on the jack after I dragged it under the car. Still the jack works great though.

Finally got to use my new press.

Built a new rear for the Camaro and had to press on the bearings. Tons of fun.
