Okey dokey then...

The only couple of shots I could find showing what it looked like before I started changing things...

And the in-progress shots...

Makeshift rack for the propane bottles, shelf for random ****, flashlight mount...

Had to replace dead NiCads, cheaper to buy tool kits so I wound up with some new tools and chargers. Changed a few things around on the charger rack

Different angle of the tools, battery rack, chargers...

Garage 008 by Ed Durbin (Katodog), on Flickr

Decided to use the dead batteries as tool mounts, pulled the cells out and used the battery shells to mount some of the power tools. Changed the charger rack, got rid of the NiCad chargers. A lot of the next shots are basically me adding tools in spots, changing where they're mounted, stuff like that...

Reinforced the workbench top...

Garage 018 by Ed Durbin (Katodog), on Flickr

Knocked down the plastic shelves and turned them into a table for the sander, added an old medicine cabinet for storing stuff...

Mounted more tools under the cabinet...

There's more photos but these are the basic lowdown on what's happened in the garage. Just a bunch of moving, organizing, moving, organizing, etc.. It never ends. If you really want to be driven nuts you can watch my cheesy video...

Do you have a timer set up to run the chargers on a regular basis ? I know it is not good to keep the batteries on charge for 24/7.

Quite a collection. Do you have any corded tools?

I like how the garage was filled before the siding was finished

I have the impact driver, it's a nice tool, I like it. But, I'm a sucker for Ryobi stuff, I like all of it. I don't have the impact wrench, but I want to get it sooner or later.

I have corded tools but obviously I prefer cordless. The planer is corded (well, I doubt anybody could make a cordless planer), I have a corded impact wrench, corded angle grinder, bench grinder, and I'm sure some other stuff that I can't think of off the top of my head. 95% of the power tools are Ryobi One+. My lawn mower and snow thrower are electric, wouldn't mind trying out some of the battery-operated lawn mowers and snow throwers that have been popping up but I can't justify buying them since the stuff I have works perfectly. Maybe when the lawn mower or snow thrower dies I can get one of the battery-operated ones to play with.

This is confusing to me, maybe I'm not getting the point. Are you saying you like all the **** I have stuffed in the garage, or that you like the insulation and stuff that is going up on the outside? Sorry, but I'm a little on the dumb side sometimes...

I don't have the chargers on timers, what I did was cut the plugs off and put right-angle plugs on and plug them into switchable plugs. I just turn them on when I need to use them, and turn them off when they're not in use. I thought about a timer but it seemed more logical to have them on switches. I could have just left them as-is and plugged them in and unplugged them when needed, but that seemed silly. I didn't want to keep plugging them in, unplugging them, and so on and so on. Switches were a better choice.

The 6-port charger they have is kinda timer-like, it'll charge one battery at a time, going around in a circle until they're all charged, then basically randomly keep them trickle-charged. After a certain amount of time it shuts itself off. I was thinking of getting that charger but then decided that buying the tool kits with the chargers was enough, and that putting them on switches would be the easiest and smartest thing to do.

Just some of the little weird tricks I do to stuff to make it all easier to work with. Like cutting the cord super-short on my palm sander, and adding a male plug end to it. Was getting absolutely sick of trying to wind up the cord and stuff it into the case, was easier to have a little stubby cord and use an extension cord with it.

If I had stock in Ryobi I'd own more Ryobi tools. Somehow I don't think they got the message about me being broke, they haven't sent me any free tools...

Nice set up.

Besides taking awesome pictures, what do you do with all the cordless tools?

I use them for everything. When I had a full-time job I used them as a maintenance mechanic, working on machinery and building maintenance. Now that I'm basically a bum and sit at home all day, I use them for whatever pops up. Building a coffee table, building kitchen drawers, fixing stuff around the house, whatever comes up. In the past week I've used every tool that's hanging and the three that are on the shelf, just for building a new wood rack in the garage and working on random stuff like fixing the gate on the fence. The tools get well-used, I'm always screwing around with something.

I think it's called California, land of Prii
Good to see someone who has as many Ryobi battery-powered tools as I have. Can't say I have two of any item except chargers but in addition to most of what you have there I also have:

Portable Vac/Blower
Radio
Hedge trimmer
Chain saw
Larger Lithium Ion string trimmer
Extendable pole saw/trimmer
Leaf blower (wife's favorite)
Angle grinder

It's amazing that I have those same kitchen cupboards in my workshop.

I have a list of other stuff I want, but money's tight around here so I have to wait and get what I can get when I can get it. I'm happy with what I have, I can get things done with little hassle, but there's always other tools I want. Right-angle grinder, I have an electric that I use when needed, but I'm a huge fan of cordless so that's on the list. So is a bunch of other stuff.

I had the "blue" leaf blower but the plastic flywheel broke and I wasn't about to spend the time looking for a replacement or money to buy another plastic one. Bought a B&D blower/vac and am happy as a clam with it. The wind it puts out is ridiculous and it has a metal flywheel.
