It is a 48' X 32 ' souped up pole barn chassis with an insulated metal skin and an 48' X 8' canopy for outdoor sitting area.....has 3, 10' X 9' overhead doors.
Inside, the 6" X 6" posts are vertically strapped with a 2' X 6" rafter and then with 1" X 4" horizontal strapping for the inside white metal finished wall and ceiling.
The 2 X 6 vertical strapping will give me a 11/2" clearance between the outside/inside wall, so that at any future time, I can run items inside the wall without tearing off any of the metal on the inside wall.
Since the base floor is sloped and below grade, I need to bring in 4 feet of fill sand....pact it.....add 4" of crushed stone....pack it....add 2-inch foam board on top....lay wire mesh for tying the 1/2" pex tubing for in-floor radiant heat and then pour a 6-inch cement pad. The floor will have an "H" configuration trench drainage system. The finished ceiling height will be 12 feet.
I'm using a "BAXI 310 FI" boiler, (which will also doubles as a hot water heater for when I heed hot water), and a 10-loop manifold for a more even heat distribution.
I'm installing a 4-post lift on one end and future plans includes a retro style bar at the other end. I will use the front end of a '57 Chevy as the front of the bar c/w working headlights, turn signals and horn. The top of the bar will be brushed finished aluminum with an embedded circular pattern.
If you notice, there is is only one window on the building.....this is intentional as I need to control the interior light because this garage will also be used as a video studio. I produce a show for a local TV station called "THE AUTO STOP". The host is Bill Sherk, (the old car detective). He talks about and shows vintage and classic cars dating back to the 1900's. The show is similar to Dennis Cage's show on the SPEED channel.
I will post more pics as the work progresses.

p.s. this is all being done for my second "love" a 66 T-Bird convertible.
