Basic 2 car garage a couple of years ago:
After adding some refurbed kitchen wall cabinets, a little paint, some posters, and rearranging things a little:
Never did like having to share garage space with the washer and dryer, plus the water heater takes up the corner on the other side of the washer and dryer, and the wall to the left of the workbench protrudes into the garage to make space for a spiral staircase inside the house. Still, was able to put a workbench, air compressor, beer fridge, drill press, tool chest, worktable, shelving, 2 Bronco axles, a Porsche 912, a 3 wheeler, a motorcycle project, 3 bicycles, a floor jack, lots of jack stands, an engine stand, an engine hoist, a welder, plasma cutter, and several big plastic tubs of parts in there - plus leave enough space to park my extended cab GMC truck. I had stuff hanging from the ceiling, covering the walls, up in the attic, even put up 2 metal storage buildings in the back yard to hold my yard tools and ATV's.
Moving to a new house now, the garage there is slightly bigger, but not much. I think I'll just leave it as a garage, and put up a nice 40x60 shop.
