I am new to this forum and really enjoy looking at all of the great work people have done with their garages. I wasn't going to post pictures of my garage, but my son talked me into it. He is home on leave from the Marines, and leaves for Afganistan in a couple of weeks.

This one is for you Jeff:

Nice setup Tom, love the tractors, they're in unbelievable shape........now here's a guy who knows how to look after his equipment.

Jeff even us Canucks are very proud of everything the U.S. , Canada and the rest of NATO are doing in Afganistan. THANK YOU (from an old biker)!

Thank you for all of the kind words toward my son. I would give anything and everything to go in his place, but this is the life he chose, and I am very proud him.

I was just looking at your tractors again Tom and it got me thinking: about 10 years ago I bought a new Craftsman yard tractor. After 3 yrs it was starting to rust and was junk after 5 yrs (even though it was kept in the garage and I serviced it regularly, etc). I went into Sears, to see if they would do something for me, even though it was past warranty (I figured they might help at store level, since it lasted such a short time). They brought out the manager who informed me that the life expectancy of the tractor was only 5 yrs anyways, so there was nothing they would do. Five years????

I should take them in the pictures of your tractors and tell them with some actual build quality and regular maintenance, this is how long a tractor should last:beer:

BTW, since then, I've switched to John Deere....much happier.

Very nice space. It's always a great feeling to have them come home on leave. My own son comes home this week also for a break before Afghanistan, and you can believe we'll be rolling up our sleeves in the garage. Love the look of the wooden cabinets!

I restore and use old garden tractors; Wheel Horse, Simplicity, Bolens, Sears, etc. and they all will pull the guts out of the box store brands. You can still buy a good garden tractor, but at 6 to ten grand and up, most people can't afford or don't need that much tractor. The truth is, with proper maintenance, they will last a life time and are cheap at that price.

My newest tractor is 20 years, and the rest are 35 to fifty+, and should be good for another 50 years.

Thanks for the compliment, and enjoy your John Deere.
