Wowzers! That is a fabricator's shop. Really nice shop manual collection and you have utilized all your space. It was fun looking at all the pieces hanging....headers...tailgate...even the Shark (my favorite). I couldn't use half the equipment in there so you are way smarter than I am.

Thanks, Those pictures are fairly old now. It's always surprising how efficient you can get when your left with limited space, I try to utilize as much space as I can. Tomorrow I'll do some cleaning and take some update pictures, there are some changes and additions since then.

That shark is pretty cool along with the dragster  Nice space for sure. It looks like the space is well utilized. So what is in the plans for the truck that you are making a bed for?

What is the yellow piece of equipment? Looks like a small version of an English Wheel.

Kevin, there's two machines on that stand. The yellow one is a shrinker and the one you can't see is a smaller version of the yellow one and that does stretching. I use them for making curves in sheet metal, wheel openings, window arcs, repairing around headlights, etc... The bed is for a 40' Chevy Pickup I'm resto-rodding for a neighbor, he bought a roll over that we decided to turn into a rod. The original bed was crudely built from several others and I wasn't about to try to make heads or tails of what they previous hack..uh I mean builder did with it so I bought some 18 ga sheets and made a copy then preceded to make a roll up tonneau cover to fit perfectly. He's retired and crippled so he can't do the work himself and so he hired me to build this thing for him. Plans are to hopefully have it done by may so he can get on the show circuit, I've been building this truck for the last two years now and it's become quite the pain in my ****.

YellowLake,
Funny how those project for someone else, that seem cool at inception (especially if your getting paid) turn into a thorn when they get a little time or frustration thrown in. I've run into that several times working on older/custom bikes for folks.

Yeah it'd be nice to work on one of my own rods but I can't see that happening anytime soon, after this truck is done then I move onto a 63' Studebaker Lark for Ace Hardware to use as a promotional car. That one won't be so bad, they pay extremely well and all I have to do is the fab work, no reassembly or paint work. I've finished the chassis already on that one for them, blasted, epoxy coat, prime, paint, and cleared, they already have that assembled. But no matter how much I regret taking on the work...I still need the money so grin and bear it is all I can do with the occasional complain now and then until it's long gone out the door.

Slightly off topic.

  • How much are you paying for wood pellets ?
  • Are you buying by the bag or in bulk ?
  • Has the price changed much in the past few years ?

Actually I get them for free, my Father is sales and marketing for Great Lakes Renewable Resources located in Hayward Wisconsin... http://www.glrepellets.com/

I get them by the pallet at the moment, they do offer bulk containers as well. As far as the price goes it's changing all the time, it's best to call for current pricing and remember buying in bulk is always cheaper than buying by the bag.

Did some more organizing, cleaned out the years of scrap sheet metal from under the shear/brake and put my chops saw and grinders underneath. Also cleaned up, sorted and organized the work benches a little. I came up with this little horseshoe crab also thought you guys might like him. As soon as things slow down I'll start making some sharks, horseshoe crabs and some horse shoe hangers to be made available for purchase if anyone is interested. Right now things are kind of hectic so I'll post when I have time. Thanks.

Just a great looking shop all around. Well stocked and all the tools one would need for just about anything. It looks comfortable and very pleasant to work in. I think the organization is excellent. Thank you so much for posting a real working shop for us to enjoy!!

Best Regards

Thanks Herb, not much work going in there over this winter though. But that's more time to drink beer and organize.

One of my small tractors, I have a wide front version on this as well. Also have a vintage sears suburban with a loader attachment, bucket, dozer blade, back blade, scarifier, chisel plow, moldboard plow and of course the rear 3point. I'll try to remember to get some pictures.

Picked this beauty up about a month ago. 1600 hours. Also a respirator free-air pump for my blasting hood, they had just put the new motor on before upgrading which was my luck.
