I thought I would create a thread for my Goodwill/Craigslist Finds. Me and the wife decided to stop by our Goodwill. I was helping the wife find a paper cutter for her coupons. I decided to go to the back room where they put the outside stuff at. I found this older Craftsman Tool Wall Cabinet. I picked it up for $14.99.

Awesome score!

If I found something similar at our Goodwill it would be a crappy chinese cabinet and marked at $49.99 (when the sale price at HF is $34.99).

x2 on inside pic!

Which cabinet is it, We want to see the inside. As for the key, if you can't take it out take it to a lock smith, they have tools to take out a broken key. If it is the mechanic version I would be interested in buying it from you. Please post a pic of the inside...Richard
Pm me if you are interested in selling. I will post a pic that another member had, and it is this version that I would like.

Why thank you, I appreciate that. Now if I can get the broken key out of the lock.

Which version is that? Anything left inside?

Inside picture and do you want to sell it? They had different models.

Inside pictures or it did not happen!

Try turning the cabinet face down and whack it a few times to see if the key will fall out.

The awesome Goodwill find that is priced well is rare. I've looked at least a 100 times and it's all junk. Congrats.

I appreciate it, I was very happy with the find. I am working on getting the key out of the lock. If I get it out, I think I have a spare key for it since I found the broken key and another key inside the cabinet. I might end up taking it to a lock smith to get it out without damaging it.

It is nice to find things there that they have no clue on. We got new management and they started raising the prices on everything like crazy. So now I go in looking and keep my mouth shut and take my finds when I can.
Awsome i found a 24 inch snap on extension there a few years back

Newby just reading mail, and I must say you got your moneys worth. I do a lot of garage/yard/& estate sales, and you would be suprised what's out there for nearly nothing. Just today we were in a well to do neighborhood, and I found a 70's vintage Snap On Timing LIGHT in like NEW condition. The attached photo & I hope I did it correct, is after I wiped it off with a Lysol wipe and glass cleaner. It was on a table of assorted tools for $1.00 ea, yes I couldn't believe it after I got it home.

Update!!! I looked in the 1953 Sears Craftsman Catalog. It cost $18.50 brand new from Sears. So mine is original as it was in 1953. This Museum piece will be stored in the house.
I don't think the wife will mind considering it is 62 yrs old.

I had no idea Goodwill even sold tools. There are a lot of them in my city and none of them have a "back room" with tools that I know of... I'm gonna start asking everywhere I go!

You guy's need to be patient. Goodwill, Arc Store's, and Craigslist have some great deals to be had. My dad asked me why I was getting these tools for? I told him people like you don't have the patients to sell or fix things. So you sell it for dirt cheap and I go in for the score. Some things I will keep and some I will sell. If I can make a profit, then I can use the money to get more stuff and fix what I have. He didn't like the answer, but I don't have Donald Trumps wallet either. I want to eventually have a nice workshop and be able to use the old relics that I have found.
