Yup you read that right. I got carried away in the shop last weekend and made my own shop dust pan, that kind where you don't have to bend over to use it. As long as I grease it regularly it should last me for many years to come. I really enjoyed this project, was fun used some scrap aluminum and made the hing pins greaseable :bounce:Haha. BCD.

Nice work, I am just about to make my own as well.
I am done with cheap plastic items.
The one failing most have is that they tend to flop or fall over and can not free stand for long.
Hence defeating the purpose of not needing to bend.

Your unit looks great and I will probably follow your lead, but will add some simple spring loaded locking gizmo that helps keep the handle upright when not in use.

Thanks for sharing.

This one stands upright, I didn't plan it that way, but I'm glad it did. It's heavy enough too not even hold it while sweeping into it. I can post some more pictures and some dimensions later. BCD.

You should put casters on as well so you can wheel it through the shop versus carrying it. Just make sure the swivels are greaseable as well. :lol_hitti

Seriously though, nice pan. Might have to try my hand at something similar. Getting tired of bending to use mine.

Obviously that is undersized for your uses. You’re going to need 1 ton axles to carry around all your dust.

Seriously though, looks good. The green and red make it look like it belongs in Santa’s workshop.

As a Canadian produced product, isn’t there a requirement for both English/French language labeling ??[. ****! Probably going to get sued by the federal and provincial government for violating Canadian law, and then also pay hundreds of thousands in some sort of tax that all Canadian small businesses pay. Is there a way to bend sheet metal in one shot? Do you have a tip for a novice like me? +5 degree for aluminum, for example. One more question. Is there a name for the hinge?
