My little shop of horrors; it is a 20X25 attached garage with a laundry area and HVAC so about as much room as a 20X20? I have wanted to finish the walls forever but I never get a chance to have the time, money and situation all line up. I have a car that is in progress on one side and heavy lumps of iron all over. I do a fair amount of work in this hole and when the dead car runs I can actually park two cars in there. Along with what you see there is 3 complete V8 engines, an air compressor and, 2 motorcycles less frames hidden in there.

The highlights are a DoAll bandsaw, Monarch lathe, Miller Dynasty welder, Oxy/Acc Torches behind the Dynasty, Kearney&Trecker Mill, Burr-King grinder, Delta Drillpress, hand tools and, precision tools.

The way I see it....you could part with all that machinery that is taking up room ( I could actually store it for you as I have some extra room), then you could get the walls finished, floor finished, and both cars in the garage. The wife would be happy, you'd be happy, and I'd be tickled ****less.

But if you absolutely must live and work in that congested area Nice job!!!!! So what have you are are you making with all of the mills, & lathe?

The machines are used for prototype mostly, the project in process has two of my own design throttle bodies. I didn't make the T-B casting, I sourced the basic piece and machined them to my requirements. A lot of what I do is modifying existing components for other applications.

Here are two throttle bodies; one is an electronic and the other a simple mechanical, the simple one is used with MegaSquirt instead of 6 Bosch engine control modules.

Thank You, My humble little garage is low key and understated, I would love to have a bigger, nicer, space but, it ain't in the cards right now.

By the way; looking at the pictures, all the coffee cans on the floor have dry sweep in them. My mini spill kits.

How do you like the Miller Dynasty welder? I'm trying to decide if I want to go with the Dynasty 350 water cooled or the Synchrowave 350 water cooled, looking for more opinions

I really like the Dynasty, the inverters can do some neat things and it uses a lot less power both welding and idle than a transformer machine. The Sincrowave is a good welder but, the Dynasty 350 IMHO would be my first choice.

On a side note, did you say something about you "retrofitting" for Megasquirt? If so, I'd like to pick your brain sometime about a crazy idea that I have.

Not bad at all I suppose other would die for my basement hand tools every where, and plenty of woodworking tool. ( most treasures from the past)

Currently I am working on getting a SB 10k and a benchmaster mill , the table saw is being evicted.

Steve, tell us about the phase converter above the Monarch. Store bought? home-built? What capacity (HP) you running through it? How difficult was it to install and balance? There's a lot of neat 3 ph equipment out there for little $$. Would be nice to take advantage of the bargains, but it all starts with converting the juice.

Steve My attatched is about the same size without the laundry or HVAC or most of the kewl toys and I dont have near as much space . I am still working on organizing and have been for at least 2 years . I take 2 steps forward and then bam I fall off the wagon and move back 6 . Nice space and use of it .

Aw you guys are making me blush,

The throttle bodies are for Mercedes V12's and V8's, the two I have are on a M120 V12. There is a 6.2L M119 V8 sitting on my rolling bench that will getting a larger one soon.

The gray box above the lathe is a5 HP DC drive that is single phase, the mill has a 5 HP single phase motor and the saw has capacitors to run on single phase. I have no real phase converter, the saw has a 3/4 and 3 HP motors that are three phase motors but run with capacitors across two legs, a poor mans static converter? The welders are all single phase 8KVA on the saw and 60 amps on the Dynasty.
