interesting forum you have here,
you all have such impressive garages
some very inspiring pictures indeed.

makes me want to spend less time on the cars and put some work into the building.

insulation, sheetrock, lighting all need serious attention..

I bought this place three years ago almost as you see it here,
it's 30'x60' with a 30'x30' loft space and
the back 20' I converted into an art studio for the wife
so I have the front 30'x40 for my projects, hot rods mostly.
there is an old pneumatic single cylinder lift, a small electric hoist
and I have a beam crane stacked up outside ready to erect.

I must say though,
the more I look around here the more my garage looks like a shed full of old junk..

I see some good helpfull information here too,
I'm sure I can use it fixing my place up.

the '30 Model A, I've been working on for a few months, started collecting parts for it about a year ago.
the '27 Model T, I built in two shifts, roughed it together over Turkey Day time off in '04 and got it on the road last summer, it still needs finishing, wires, glass, upholstery..
the fiberglass T in the loft I bought in pieces and sold in pieces last fall.
the '35 Dodge is a long time back burner project that will happen...some day.
the '37 Topolino is a new project, an engine builder buddy and mine's joint venture, should be a fun toy. still collecting parts for it, should be coming together soon.

the shop though,
I find it hard to stop working on the cars
but as you can see it really needs finishing too
the structure is sound, the wiring is good and plenty,
there is a good gas furnace for heat
and there is water to the building as well as plumbing for drains

I can see it coming together this summer and hope to have it clean, warm and well lit for next fall.

not a lot happening in the car department
but I have been working a bit on the garage

puting finishing touches on the wife's end of the building
the footprint is like a rectangle with a corner out of it

the front is mine, 30'x40'
the back is her's, 20'x20'
and loft is shared

I am just about done with her space
I took a dark cold two car garage space
put in a new roll up and man door and a couple old wood sash windows in
wired, insulated, rocked, trimmed it all out
and put a pellet stove in

now it's just paint
and it'll be done.

Don't sell ypurself short. My garage looks a lot like yours and I like it just the way it is. It's comfortable!! Also I'm into streetrods..they are the most fun you can have with your pants on! Jake T.
