I've been lurking for a while and thought it was time I joined up. This is one of my favourite sites, which I visit on a regular basis. Here are the obligatory pics of my garage. Unfortunately it backs onto a gravel alley and gets very dusty. Also, the floor in front of the ohd is slowly falling off(you can see the crack in the pics). The heater up in the corner is ****** huge for the size of the building so even at -30C it only takes about 15 minutes to get it above freezing. It's normally not on unless I'm working in there. My next purchase is going to be a 20-30 gallon parts washer as I'm going to be busy this winter restoring my 72 Kawasaki H2. So, on with the pics.dave

welcome!

Welcome oversteer... Its nice to have a heated garage. My previous garage was not heated and was not fun to work in during the winter. You have a nice work area in there. Take care....

Nice garage....I love working on my old Hondas in the middle of the winter with the heat blasting. Not as good as riding but it takes the edge off and you have time for several coats of wax. :)

Unfortunately I can relate to bars on the windows. One would not think of Topeka KS. as a high crime area, but it is. At some point I want to bar the windows, but for now most have been covered with plywood. For those not plywood covered, I have painted over the windows. I also took pictures and video of the contents of my garage. I also have added $30,000 of coverage to my State Farm coverage to cover a break in or total loss. Most of you probably know that many home owners policies only cover the first $1000,00 of tool loss unless you purchase additional coverage as I did. Anyway, in Topeka additional coverage is a must thanks to the theives, feebes, and crack heads! By the way, your garage looks great. I wish I had that kind of elbow room.

The crackies are what worry me - I have already been hit once - they know what I have now. I put expanded metal up (inside) over the windows and screwed the windows shut. I feel like a shut in but what do you do?

Nice work space, oversteer!

HHOLMBERG, MXtras,

Crime was a factor in my recent decision to move to Montana. I was fed up with the urbanization of my old home town in NC, so I left. Here in MT, there is very little crime, especially in the area I live in. Hell, a lot of people here still leave their houses unlocked.

ringer,

Most refreshing, at different times through the years I have lived out in the toolies (way out) and have known that comfort level. Unfortunately I am now stuck in what I tell the wife is " The crotch of the country". I have high hopes of someday getting back out of town. I would really like your part of the country, but I would be afraid that employment opportunities at a liveable wage would be somewhat limited, plus the fact of my elderly parents close proximity and those issues.

Thanks for the comments. Unfortunately the beer tower is empty.
Sully:The bars on the windows are because of where I live. I live in a block which isn't too bad but am surrounded by unfriendlies. When I got the 7 it had green valve stem caps for some reason and I parked the car out on the street for the first couple nights as I arranged the garage. Well they went walkies in the 2 days it was out.
Big Mac:The helicopter came with the house.Btw,nice avatar.
ringer:Whats your address?
