i need an opinion. my hvac broke, its an old unit, old heat pump, but it been very good unit.
the outside unit , the contact had arc closed and the fan starter capator burned a wire.
so I replace all that and everything looks good but the contact not getting 24 volts. if i close it manual, everything works. the only board is the heat pump defrost board,
its a very simple unit
so I got one ordered and it wont be here till the 23th

is there anything im over looking on the 24 volts system. the thermostat is a very basic non electronic unit, just mercury switch type

the 24 transformer is good because it pop the chit out of me. the wire from thermostat to outside unit tested good with meter, no weed eater damage

To get it working in AC all you need to do is get 24 volts from the thermostat to the contactor, you can bypass the control board for now. You might have to energize the reversing valve too, but easy to do.
