I got bored one day and made a lamp out of 3/4" plywood, 1/2" emt and put and on/off switch on a metal electrical box.

I made a lamp too. I saw this on the internet and made my own. The hand is an old ceramic mold for making rubber gloves. The light is a vintage fixture I found in old industrial building. The power cord is from an old vacuum cleaner.

where are you finding legit old stuff like the lamp and hand mold?

Thanks for the compliment. The glove molds are easy to find around here. Lots of little antique shops have them for $25 to $35 each. The one pictured is not that old - it has 1983 stamped on it. They come in different sizes and shapes depending on the type of glove produced.

As for the lamp, I found it in an old factory building that I worked on. I am in the construction business and I always have my eyes open for good salvage items like this. I believe this fixture dates to around 1916 or so.
