Really nice shop! Looks great. Nice score on the compressor and I'm sure that you'll get a ton of use out of it. Did your varmint control inspector sign-on? Those guys are nice to have around. I've only seen one that size in my yard here in the Richmond VA area - had a nice bump from something that was just consumed...had to scoot him out of the yard as my dog was way to interested.
I've got a brush pile in back that has ironically no varmint action. Although I haven't seen him on patrol, the lack of even a single turd anywhere points to him doing a great job apparently.

Well, it's stereo time in the new shop.
Thinking I'm going to pick up some car audio speakers and sink them into the steel on the walls.
I've got a box of rubber stick on insulation pads for the back of the panel getting the speaker and it'll keep the walls uncluttered from hanging speakers.

90 days in the making. Almost done. Gotta make and install a backstop/backsplash.

Couldn't find Ford corporate blue in a regular interior paint, so a guy that knows a guy that owed a guy a favor mixed up an enamel for me and here we are.
3 coats sprayed over a light yellow tinted primer.
It's damn close.

14 feet and a maple top that is pinned in the center and glued to plywood underneath to reinforce the joint. I'll rub it with linseed oil this weekend.

Really nice project, looks awesome both outside and in. Where did you score the workbench, or did you build it?
I didn't build it or spray it, but did assemble it. Kind of a hook up from a friend. We're not done yet until the backsplash gets my attention. It's going to go right up under the gray steel angle and get wired in.
Blue or.. not sure yet. Blue will take longer because paint dude is an hour from me.

Paint guy nailed the Ford Blue, stick with him.

You will also need one of these:

Thanks. He is quite a painter.
The color is Sherwin Williams Indigo. The number is SW6531 178-C7..in an enamel.. and sprayed 3 coats.. over primer that was tinted light yellow.
My wife would love that Red Pony.
She's got a 72 convertible.
This was in August on our way to the Dyno.

Progress pix taken in my friends shop.
IMG_1602.jpg

The main straps are 2"x1/4"
The diagonal supports are 2" square seamed and I can't remember the wall thickness.
The lightening speed hole tubes aren't welded in yet.
I'll get them powdercoated before they go up, maybe Ford corporate blue or charcoal gray.

IMG_1601.jpg

These supports are 24"x24" to hold a 40' long x 26" deep mezzanine/shelf going up on my back shop wall above the windows.
With the guesstimate eyeballing, I'll have 22" of height in the back of the shelf and 38"+ in front.
Plenty of high storage and an easy place to hide wires and air lines, and wire up the 3 LED shop lights I have left.

20230907_130526.jpg

7 angle supports total and yet undetermined attachment and support on each end if it needs it.
Each support will be mounted on a post/pole that is the main frame of the building.
The posts are laminated 6x8s.

Finally found time to get these ready for powdercoat.

20240209_110352.jpg

7 total for this span of 40'..
These are 24x24

20240208_144847.jpg

These are the smaller brackets my friend made for his place. He found boxes of random flooring cut ends for $5 each. So that's what is on the wall.
The shelves are 2x12 hemlock rough sawn.
I think his came out pretty sweet.

Just a quick shot of the last pull I've gotta make. The pvc drain sticking up has a little orange rope around it. That will guide the 100' of pex getting pushed from shop to house. My water plan will be house water on one sink handle and collected rainwater on the other handle.
I'll be diving into a 3 barrel collection rack out back soon. That'll feed my light duty pressure washer and other simple things.
I've seen some pretty ingenious ideas on here for rainwater collection and learned some too, so here goes.

All Ford here, all the time. As far as little Hondas goes.. I have none currently but I definitely have plans.
I'm near Knoebels Grove Amusement park.

Getting there. A friend gave me 5 hours of his time yesterday on this and I'm forever grateful. Time is our most precious commodity, and to give your time to someone else is a real deal gift.

The 24"x24" brackets got powdercoated and mounted.
There will be a 26" deep 40' long shelf sitting on them. That's next week sometime and then getting it wired for lights underneath.

Brackets look great - dark gray in the end?

Love the space - enjoyed reading through this thread.
20230812_125100.jpg

Not sure what you're asking. The brackets are Ford corporate blue, and the high shelf will be white. I'm using the rest of the board and batten siding from my house build to trim this shelf out. This is the empty space before this part of the project started, and I'm glad you're enjoying my build thread. It has been a busy year. I'm researching mini-splits now, and I'm thinking a 2 ton will do what I need. That'll be soon...

Progress.
My friend came over and this is what our efforts brought.
Simple boxes from 2x4s screwed together and then leftover white board siding from my house build glued and nailed on the bottoms.
20240507_110834.jpg
Thinking this white bottom with 3 of the same 4 foot lights I used on the ceiling underneath and will give me enough light.
20240507_112715.jpg
We scabbed some pieces behind the liner panels and between the purlins for the braces and for the ends.
20240507_143600.jpg
This is my first post/frame construction building. I'm very happy with it thusfar.
20240507_155125.jpg
That's enough for today.

Once the other end is up and the lights up and wired, the top shelf surface will be OSB screwed down in case I've got to get in for more wiring.
I have a few pieces of siding that are black, so they'll get ripped and glued/brad nailed across the face to finish it.

Then... cabinets.

Apparently dude stuck around for the winter. He cleaned out the birds while my shop was under construction and I haven't seen him since until today.
A very docile fellow that appears to be in excellent health. He can stick around as far as I'm concerned.

Re-purposing some rack from my friends pickup. He bought a white '95 F-150 from some auction that had PSU emblems on the doors, and this on the back. I think it was a band support truck.
Its going to be a wall mounted tire rack. Using some rough cut hemlock 4x4x36 posts to space it away from the tin on the wall. Powdercoated in whatever blue my friends shop had on hand.
