I'd been looking for some 3/4" drive SAE impact sockets for awhile after having a couple of occasions to use some impacts of that genre, but I hadn't found anything that I could justify given my sporadic use.

Looking on eBay, I found a seller with some NOS Allen impacts that had been priced pretty competitively as a Buy-It-Now, but being the cheap-*** that I am I decided to see where they'd end up on an out-and-out auction.

They're not Proto like the rest of my 3/4 drive stuff, but they're made in the USA, and I'm figuring even lower-tier US made stuff like this is better than Asian imports... and the price was about the same. 13 sockets, from 3/4" up to 1-1/2", all kind of shelf-worn but still sporting bar code labels and price stickers... for $55 :D They'll do.

:thumbup:Nice find, I would hate to even fathom what a similar set of USA sockets would cost new, but i can guarantee it would be more than $55.

Looking at those sockets, they have the same markings as some recent Armstrongs before they went to the laser etched logo. I don't think you got lower tier sockets at all. Heck of a good deal.

harbor freights 3/4 NON impact set cost more than that...I needed a few larger sockets and couldnt justify the astronimical price for quality sockets. I dont use em very often either, but mopar just cant seem to not put 40mm + size nuts on their drive trains and I needed something. Ill trade ya and Ill even throw in a rachet and breaker bar:thumbup:

Allen, Armstrong, and Napa Pro 3/4" impact sockets all come from the same Danheur batches. I have a set of Armstrong 3/4" metric impact sockets that came from e-bay sealed in there original factory bags and cardboard box for $60. There are deals out there, you just have to find them.
