I went and picked this up last night. :bounce: It is in near perfect shape. It is a KRL-661. Does anyone know what this box cost when it was new? By the model number and after where it says USA on the back it says 94. Does that mean it is from 1994? I actually really like the color too! This box will be an addition to my collection since my Craftsman box is packed full. What do you guys think?

looks pretty good. What's up with the top? It looks longer than the box.

Yeah the butcher block is definitely too long for the box. I don't think it was originally made for it. It has some marks in the wood too so a guy at work is going to cut it down to the right size and run it through his planer. I will rerouter the edges after that and refinish. Should look really nice when that is done.

I forgot in my other post... The dimensions are 44"h 20.5"D and 50.5"W.

Box looks great. Is the top of the wood top uneven? Mine is real wavy. <a href="http://s264.photobucket.com/albums/ii199/bondman35a/Tool%20Box/?action=view&current=CIMG0827SmallMedium.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii199/bondman35a/Tool%20Box/CIMG0827SmallMedium.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

December 4, 1995 - KRL661 - Roll Cab - $3400.00

Thanks for the info. I thought I got a pretty good deal on it. Picked it up for $1000. :rocker: What do you guys think for that price. Seemed good to me.

Very nice Box!! My top is nice and smooth except for where the previous owner worked on it (small dents). I am going to cut my top to the right length and run it through a planer before I refinish it too.

I'm excited to get it all cleaned up, new drawer liners, wax the outside, and clean up the rails. Some of the rails feel like the grease is dried up :headscrat so I may need to take all the rails apart and clean and oil them. One of the bottom drawers pulls a little hard too. How do I tell if the slide is bent or just needs to be cleaned? :dunno:

Since I'm going through that now with my KRL-1001 and KRL-1003, I can tell you what's happening.

At the back end of the drawer slide there is a pair of rubber stops. The smaller one crumbles and gets stuck in the grease and bind up the bearings. I'd remove them and wash them good with solvent.

You should replace the butcher block with 1/2 inch plate steel. Much more durable and solvents won't hurt it.
