You'll probably figure this out on your own eventually but you should turn your socket trays 90* so they are readable when you open the drawer.

I have 4 more of the green cabinets on the way from my best Buddy Matt. I’m going to build a cabinet empire down here.

That is awesome. I love the Lista / Vidmar cabinets but have yet to come across any that were affordable that weren't also thrashed. Who does that ???

Look forward to seeing them wrapped.

As nice as the set up is, what we really need to see is what it replaced, just so we can properly appreciate the transition. I know what a difference even small improvements in my storage situation have made. Good deal.

Traded my one pristine green Vidmar cab to a friend for 4 not-so-pristine cabs of the same height. The cleanliness and perfection of the cabinets is not as important to me, as I'm using them merely for storage, and not as much presentation and clean-room needs....

I'm putting one on each side of my low cabs. I will make an framework assembly overhead that holds overhead boxes with lights.... that is soon to come, stay tuned.

The other two sit in a bank on another wall, They will be used for small parts/hardware storage.

Pulls have been ordered from Vidmar quickship. They are surprisingly cheap, so I hope they are as advertised. Stay tuned.

Nice trade. If you decide to paint them versus wrap them or leave as is - I have had great success with this process:
Remove handles and drawers/carriers
Scuff drawer face, edge, normally visible cabinet area with a 400 grit on an orbital sander.
If rusty, prime
Using a small sized roller - apply 2-3 coats of oil based paint (I like Sherwin Williams personally)
Dry for a few days
Reassemble

It's all about the drawer arrangement for your friend. You obviously don't need the shallow depths since your Lista already have a lot of it already. Generally, the shallow ones are more useful to store tools.

Thanks for the tip! I think we will try the wrap route first and see how that holds up... I've also thought about electrostatic...

Yes, he was most interested in the drawer layout and the fact that the cabinet was clean and like new.

You did a nice job on the Tool cabinets. I like
the vidmars etc. but most of the ones I’ve seen
are too deep for me.
I’ve been having good luck with Blueprint File Cabinets.
They hold plenty of weight and I’ve found them
very reasonably. Then I have a few other tool
cabinets with different sized drawers for larger stuff.

I ordered all new handles and end caps for my 2 cabinets also, makes them look like new. Plus I like the looks of the newer style handles with the rounded plastic ends. I went with the black end caps. And someones was asking if they come with the clear plastic strip and spare hard paper for labeling, yes they do. Vidmar customer service good to deal with. BCD

I do like that top, a lot. I have a few Lista cabinets as well, they are definitely a good choice. If you want small bins, this is the place to order them from:

Any updates on this? I just picked up my first Vidmar cabinet. Looking for inspiration on new paint or vinyl wrap. Good info on the drawer pulls and plastic bins!

I have a ton (literally) of old Lista stuff....need to figure out what to sell and get rid of this stuff since I'm no longer a Lista dealer. I've already given away 10-15 drawers as the were taking up too much space. Plenty of dividers and partitions I can sell if you still need anything....

I'm interested in Lista parts. Do you have more drawers? Need more pics.

I can help catalog it to make the sales on here easier

Wanted some overhead storage and lighting.... I got some overhead lighted cabinets on trade from my good friend Matt... so let's make an overhead shelf to hold them, right?

Cabinets in placed and plugged in temporarily until I run common wire between them all. Turned out well I think. Need to get some LED bulbs to replace these mismatched kelvin garbage fluorescents...

I like the setup, should be good and strong. I am doing a much smaller bench setup with a butcher block top, I really wish I could have one like yours, that wood is awesome. What did you use for the lights were they just strips or built into the cabinets?

I missed the first post, got distracted by the pictures, I understand now.

A few ? Strouty has a definite counting problem :)

Yes, the lights are built into the units. Really a nice design, very high quality office unit equipment. I need to replace with LED and I'm good to go.

Damn dude, that's an intense support system you built. What are you planning on storing up there, cranks & cams :p

Nice job!
