Hi Guys, sorry that i have dropped of the planet a bit, i am currently going through a divorce which has totally blind sided myself and my family and friends, my best friend and partner/wife of 12 1/2 years decided one day to pack up and leave without a reason and left, she is not sure in what she wants in life but has pretty much vanished for the past 4 months and is uncontactable by phone, i am currently in the process of paying her out and remortgaging the house and then if i have enough steam left in the tank i will try to pick up the pieces and carry on, if not then i had a blast and i enjoyed everything about this site and the great people that made it, i survived the floods a couple of years ago and i am hoping to get past this problem as well but i think i need time for this one. Take care Lee

That's very tough to hear mate, hope you're okay. If you've made it through the floods you can make it through anything, try to keep your chin up, we're all here if you need to vent.

Well lee, sorry to hear this. I'll tell you the exact same thing happened to me, I was married 17 years and had a daughter that was 5 years old at the time. We had the tiger by the tail, we both had good jobs and extra spending money, and took nice vacations together. It was in 1992 about this time of Labor day weekend. I get a call from a realtor that he had my house sold, I said you got the wrong number, he said well Mrs at the time has listed your house last week and we have a contract on it. This was on a Thursday before the long weekend. Then the Mrs. gets home from work about 30minutes latter and says, well I been talking with a lawyer and I filed for divorce, all the bank accounts have been changed or frozen, and you have until Monday at 5:pm to be out of this house and only take your clothes and we'll negotiate the rest later. Man you could of knocked me over with a feather. But long story short, I lost a lot of stuff, but time will heal most of it, it ain't easy. I just hope you have some good friends, or you can e-mail me and yap all you want. Been there done that!:dunno: My thoughts and prayers are with you. They say its like going thru a death, me I say its worst.
I have remarried since, and we have been together for about 16 years, so it does get better I would say. Good luck my friend. Herb

Lee,
I am so sorry to read about this. I was only re-reading our PM's the other day pre and post my visit.
I am sure you will have enough in the tank, but if you need some time to recharge and fancy a trip to find out where you left your mojo, you know where I am and would be very welcome.

Good luck mate and hang in there.

Hi Lee

Sorry to hear your news, this is all too regular these days.

I too have had to go through this and while it wont help too much at the moment, rest assured there is light at the end of the tunnel (not a train).

All the best.

cheers Steve

Well guess who's picked up his sorry sad *** and decided to get on with life...

First up i would like to say sorry for dropping out guy's, i really needed to find myself and to work out what had just happened in my life. I am still lost, confused and missing a big part of my life but have realised that life has to go on.

I have read the messages from you all and your support is over whelming, i feel guilty for just dropping off like i did but felt i needed to re focus on other things.

This forum has a great bunch of people that i am proud to be appart of and i look forward to spending time catching up with reading everyone's progress and stories even more.

Once again i would like to appologise for such a long stint away and hope to contribute back to the forum as often as possible.

Thanks Lee

Lee, great to see you back. A divorce is always stressful but when it comes out of the blue it's crushing. Even though I haven't posted on your thread, it's one I've enjoyed. I'm pretty sure I was an Australian in a past life -- oh wait, that was this one -- an American *******.

As part of the GJ choir I too sing praises of your return.
Not much has changed around here. We still find things to brag about and show off our manlieness. I hope you are coming my way when you spoke of going across the pond. I look forward to comparing notes with you again

Thanks for the warm welcome back, in regards to recieving a free blower every couple of weeks i will look into that as i just purchased another one and it was definetly not free. I enjoy going to the speedway as my Grandfather was heavily involved in the early days of racing..

So, after you have caught up with everyone else's past, What's in your future?
Shed, cars etc?

Not 100% sure about my future but trying to slowly work out a bit of a plan, i have written the rest of this year off and am about to head over to the US for a couple of trips and next year i think will see me back in the swing of things car related.

Great to see you back.

Thankyou Simon, i hope all is well down your way and i look forward to checking up on your Thread..

Haha, Hi Lamar, I was able to keep all the junk including the Buick, it isn't going anywhere soon as with all the other vehicles. I hope to see what you've been up to in the upcoming weeks.

Haha, Yeah i don't recommend a divorce to anyone, but life is mean't to be a challenge they say. Thanks for the welcome back Bob.

Sorry to hear mate. Taking some time out is more than fair enough, but sounds like you're past the worst bit. Still a long road ahead, but sounds like you're tackling it as best as you can.
