What do you guys think?

My 15 year old, noisy but heretofore reliable 30 gallon oilless compressor finally gave up the ghost and I started searching for a much larger replacement to run a standing sandblast cabinet I found on Craigslist and I got this (apologies for lousy cell pics):

Priced at $899 on Harbor Freight's website (yeah, right!) $799 on sale and with coupon I could have had it for $639 plus almost 10% tax. I was about to bite the bullet then found/bought this one for $265. Runs great, I think I did just fine.

Because of that purchase, I needed to find a small portable compressor to run my nailguns, etc for working on rental properties and I happened on this, new in the box at an outlet store for $124.99 as the photo shows. It is a PC 1131 model but last year's label is on it. Otherwise identical to the one in this link at over $210.

when the cummins tool sale truck rolls through town, he usually has 2 or 3 60 gallon compressors for $250 each

Nice score :) I thought you couldn't use 20 percent coupons on compressors, can you? Is there a coupon I am unaware of?

Sorry to disappoint but it was at a place called "The Outlet" here in Monrovia, CA. They carry surplus stuff from Sears and Costco, probably others too but those I am sure of. Outstanding deals IF you happen to catch them. They had one of these Senco units and three chinese pancake types with the same rated output for $74.99 apiece. I was tempted to buy one but passed. Glad I got the Senco.

jimmy - I assumed I COULD use the 20% coupon, my bad....but that just means my deal is a bit better than I thought.:bounce:

Thanks Kev, I thought so too but I was a doubter at first. I made the guy cycle it - drain and refill it three times so I could see it would restart when hot and there were no leaks, etc. All seemed fine so I paid the $265 fast.

I've not hooked it up at home yet though because I need to install a sub panel in the garage for 220v. Its already at the outside wall of the garage at my AC unit, I just have to terminate it in a sub panel and then reconnect the AC and run a line to the compressor.
