And finally a video of the Barn. The barn is 16'-6" high at the walls and 30'-0 at the peak. The second floor is at 10'-high and that basically gives 6'-6" headroom at the truss edge of the mezanine but then increases to 20 ft in the middle.

Re: My little get aways.

I think you have may have done it. From what I see, looks like you have at least one of everything.
Looks like a fun place to be.

Re: My little get aways.

I built my shop way back and thought it would be enough. Well that was short lived. Soooooooo after struggling with room, I free'd up a bay in the shop with a 4 post lift. Wow!! That free'd up one full bay to work in. Well when you have a free bay, you fill it pretty fast. One more car!!!! The shop is fully insulated, has a reznor gas heater, one way 1/2" mirrored glass overlooking 5 acres of pasture. (Not mine) but I get to look at it without paying the taxes. I built the barn back about 4 or 5 years ago . Its 40X42 and fully insulated up until the clear panels. I need to still finish that part. I built all the inside mostly myself and with a few occasions had a younger guy help me. Mostly it was my Skidsteer and me. If you ever think about building a barn like this, you need one of these. I bought it as I would have paid an excavation company the same amount to do what I did but then I end up with a Skid steer. That was a no brainer. I framed , drywalled, insulated, built the mezzaneen, did the Epoxy-Coat ( Wish I knew they were an Alliance Vender at the time)and everything inside when I got off of work.
We have about 4 parties a year with at least 65-80 people. Mostly all great guys in the Thursday Night Garage Association. We are a bunch of Hotrodders that meet up every Thursday at someone elses garage to see their projects.
The only downfall is that it is so fun that we went from about 20-25 people to over 300 people in 6 years. Now most cant host the TNGA. When you are host, you are responsible for feeding at least 80 people. I enjoy doing in but it IS ALOT OF WORK!!!!!
Yes my Shop is a working mans shop. In the last 33 years, I have never had a Mechanic, bodyman, electrician, builder of any sort help with my stuff. (I just can't afford their rates. So I learn myself. Being a hands on guy all my life, I would say I am a quick study.
I also belong to THE HAMB ( Alliance member 5 years and counting)as the Rabid Whippet as my Hotrod when I joined is a 1929 Whippet that will be powered by an old 1952 Desoto Hemi. Hence the Rabid part.:3gears:

Re: My little get aways.

Also thanks for all the great comments. Its alot of work but my wife and I enjoy having parties at our house and invite all neighbors for get togethers. Now adays people just don't do this anymore. So we feel privileged to have the facilities to have the gatherings.

Well, it certainly looks like a wonderful spot to gather, well done.

I think The Garage Journal manages to do the same thing, just less mess to clean up after our buds visit our threads (I still have to put MY beer bottles away!)

We'll be waiting for some of the silly stories created at the odd get together...thanks for sharing.

Amazing. I really like it,and one more thing- LLAMAS!
Alpaca's. Like I posted before. I get to see these animals and look at a very nice 5 clean acres of land and don't have to pay any taxes, food for the Alpaca's or maintaining it. Its nice to have neighbors that do this.:)

As you can see. If you have room you will fill it. 4 years and you can see how it filled. I am now just finishing up a 10' wide by 42' long lean too on the back side to hold the skid steer, lawn mower and misc stuff. Unfortunatly, its 3/4 finished and its full!!!!!!!!!!! UGH!!!!
About 8 times a year I also get together with 5 or 6 other guys and we turn the Barn into a really cool Jam session. One night a couple summers ago, we just had all the neon lights on and the barn door open. We played music till about 1:30 in the morning and it was the coolest with neon lights and the moon shining in through the door. It was an acoustical Jam and everything was perfect. Sound, light, and the temperature never got below 74 degrees all night. No neighbors complain ever about the music and it can get pretty loud as we are all amplified.

Man its been a while since I posted and lots more has been done in the shop and the Barn. I cannot believe how empty they looked a year ago. I will be putting up more pictures soon. I don't know how you all keep your places so clean. I finished my Lean To that is 10X42 off the back of the barn and now am wondering how the hell I keep finding stuff to fill up all my buildings!!!! I just bought a killer Tennsmith 6" notcher and 48" Roper Whitney Finger brake. The sad thing is my shop is so stuffed already and I shoved it under my lift but can't use it until I find more room? Time to add onto the shop? Hmmmmm!!!! Or maybe just start getting rid of some stuff. HHHHHhmmmmm that isn't happening !!!!! I'm on my way to being a custom Hoarder just collecting cool stuff!!! But where do you stop? Ugh!!! Pictures are worth a 1000 words. Pictures soon.

I think this is the first place I've seen that probably took longer to decorate than it did to build. Nice place.

Yeah right now its sort of stressing me out as I have stuff everywhere and once you run out of room it becomes piles/unorganized. I have been working 7 days a week except Christmas day and I took off New years to o paperwork. I think just organizing would help!!

Thanks! We built it to have fun in. We have neighborhood parties a couple times a year and car club functions a few times a year where at least 60 people get to enjoy it.

What a Cool, fun, Warm Friendly Place.
Great Job on the Build and putting it all together.
Sometmes it's an Icebox but I have a 375,000 btu heater that warms it up fast and then we ue just a couple propane small heaters once the temperature stabilizes.30 ft high is alot of air to warm up but it's amazing how those heaters do the job.
