I feel bad for the guys selling this stuff, they get hammered with nothing but lowball offers and scams.

I was giving some hard thought to a box upgrade, not so much for the storage, but for the work surface of a 40" or 52" box. As it is now with a quiet glide Craftsman rollaway and 3 drawer intermediate I have some top side storage for misc like shop towels and sprays, but its too high to work on. So I've been thinking about maybe Snapon 761, and also thinking about the HF US General that will be $270 again after coupon in a month. How cheap would the 761 have to be for cheap as I am me to buy it, not $2k, not $1k, someplace between $500 and $700 is my guess.

Yeah why? :headscrat

Because it's there.

If I ha to explain you wouldn't understand.

Okay, I'll tell you why:

I PREFER FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO ENJOY

He actually prefers to have the money and is trying to interject some sentimental value in to his choice to buy a tool box with limited appeal to increase the price. Now if it was his dad's or grandfather's toolbox I could see it, but it's nothing more than a toolbox with some mustang vinyl on it, worth no more than the same box with no vinyl on, in my opinion less. But I doubt I'd really would smash it, however I would smash a Chinese Harbor Freight box, just to do it, provided I won the lottery. Think I'm going to buy a lottery ticket this week.

I actually like the box a lot...but the price is ridiculous, and I'm sure the guy is lying through his teeth about paying $14,900 for it.

Mickey, you got some anger management issues! :lol_hitti

Hard to believe a guy with the user name Lookin4'67Galaxieconv would like a Ford box.:lol_hitti

There is no way in hell he paid $15k for that box, and there is no way he's getting his asking price. Now I do want to smash it.:lol_hitti

Man I wish that I had sold that guy his Snap On box for $14,900.:spit:

If he paid that for that box it explains why he wants such a crazy price for it now.

He isn't going to get anywhere near what he wants for it.

I'll start the bidding at $500.

If someone bought a box and stills $$ owes on it and then sells it and skips out on the snap on man.... who would own the box...?

I'm not sure what everyone's problem is with this ad. If you think the price is too high, don't pay it, but show us a better deal. The current retail price for these box models is over $13000. Tax takes it to about $13,900. I don't know if special edition boxes cost more or not.

These aren't 10 year old boxes that you can go and buy for $1000. The bottom boxes are selling for around $2500 minimum. He may not get what he wants, but it doesn't hurt to ask. People are still buying new Snap-on boxes (I think). His problem is that the people buying them usually finance through their dealer.
