My wife and I overhauled the garage about 15 months ago as I anticipated the homecoming for my Mach 1 from restoration. The cabinets are from Menard's, wooden ones with some paint applied. The RaceDeck is FreeFlow red, black and graphite. She nixed the idea of spelling out "Mach 1" across the floor. No complaints at this point. CJDave.

I'm not a Ford guy but she sure is pretty.

I'm a sucker for red and I really like the race deck colors you picked. Very very nice.

Thanks so much guys. I will confess to having little to do with the car restoration other than ordering parts and writing checks. My wife did go along with the project. She and I had much "bonding" time while overhauling the garage. CJDave.

You need to add some ballast to that garage. The sure indication is that it only flips upside down when it's empty. :D

Seriously, great looking garage & 69. Any details?

Thanks for the compliments. Long story. I bought the car mid-restoration. Someone gave up on the project. It was a mess. After the car set in my garage for 11 years I went to a local body shop. I have a relationship there as they have worked on my daily driver cars over the years. Their resto guy took on the job just as he was retiring. He has a very well equipped garage at his home so most of the work went on there. 2 1/2 years later produced wonderful results. CJDave.

Sorry fullracemerc, I ignored your "any details" request first time around. Details on the Mach 1 or the garage? CJDave.

Fitting home for such a great car. Post up more pictures so all of us can collectively start reasoning why we "need" one!

Congrats!

Cheers,
Chris

Thanks guys. In 2001 I bought the Mach 1 out of Jacksonville, FL. 428 Cobra Jet, ram air,4speed. Previous owner lost interest mid-restoration. It ran but not much more. Seemed to be a solid Southern car with 53k miles. Sat for 11 years in my garage while other commitments took precedence. Fall of 2012 the restoration started. The restorer is a career body man, now retired. His motto is "Now is not the time to get in a hurry". I didn't want a 100 point trailer queen show car. I.m not afraid to drive it but it is just for fun. Resto took about 2 1/2 years. Goes back to my guy tomorrow for some minor issues to be addressed. Soon it goes into winter storage. One "before" pic just for reference. CJDave.

I like the Mach1. They have always been a favorite of mine.

My first restoration was my blue 69 They are a ball to drive!!

I have only put about 600 miles on it since I got it back. I am with you though. All of that hp and brutal amount of torque is exhilarating to drive. it sure does like it's fuel. What is that in your avatar? CjDave.
