My mess in Canada

These are a couple of pictures of my garage.

This is before I started the latest reorg.

Then I discovered that my engine had some problems and needed to be fixed:

My longest "bench" is on wheels, so it can be moved. Also the craftsman thing could be picked up and moved.

The car is running again, so I put the stuff back where it belongs, sort of. I picked up the older box last week, but have not had a chance to clean it. It should help with a lot of the stuff that i have out that needs to be put away.

The two white drawers are pedestals for the washer and dryer that my wife used for a while and then did not want them. I have my power tools in there, drills, grinders, saws and sanders. Fits pretty well. The red box under the workbench is a freebie that I picked up by the side of the road. Used some penetrating oil on the slides and it works well enough for light items.

I do have a couple of cabinets that I am going to put up and I think a couple of the really narrow ones are coming down and going to another home somewhere else!!

Still a mess but I am getting there.

Thanks for looking.

Not bad now. Just needs your finite placement of your tools and supplies. If the weather gets ok, just move it all outside and look things over. Bring it back to where you want it stored. Should be an easy, but slow fix. You already are half way there.

Persistence and determination will get that garage the way you want it. My own shop evolved into a rats nest of clutter, and so when I finally got to work doing the addition I had wanted, I committed to spending the time and effort to get it better organised too. Its mostly there now, but I still have a few trouble spots to work on, and it takes diligence to not let it backslide into chaos. I have no illusions of my shop ever looking like some of the pristine showrooms some fellows here have created (hats off to them), but I figure it's pretty decent and so will yours be someday.

Keep at it and keep us posted on the progress.

Well, I am slowly getting the mess under control. The car, in case you are curious, is a 1970 Acadian SS350.

On the outside looking in

Best way I could find to store jackstands. Now I know where the jacks and the jackstands are.

Tool cabinets. The Norton box is one that I picked up for $25 from a friend who is a body guy.

Tool box I picked up for free along with the pedestals from our washer and dryer.

This is where I have been storing my power tools. Some are also in the white cabinet next to it. Also picked up for free.

I am not happy with this area. Too much stuff in front of other stuff. I am going to tear down the engine on the stand and see if I can use it for another project down the line.

Yes the workbench is messy, but I am slowly getting stuff put away where I can find it. Need to do the brakes on the Honda too.
