Hello everyone,

I’ve been lurking for a while and since I just finished up a month of work on my garage I figured I’d better do my part and contribute a few pictures. Sorry, I don’t have any before shots.

A while back I was talking to a buddy about my motorcycle lift. I told him it was great but a bit of a pain getting a big touring bike up on it and I was probably going to build some wooden boxes to put on either side as a place to put my feet when I rode the bike up onto the lift. Or, ideally the lift would be recessed in the floor. “I can do that” he says. “What day are we cutting your floor?”

So, four weeks of work later:

o Cabinets/workbench moved to a different wall
o Lift sunken into the floor
o Walls, ceiling, cabinets repainted
o New shelving built and painted

I’ve got plans for Race Deck flooring next year which is why the lift sits about a ½” above the floor when it’s lowered. More storage and workbench space are also on the future agenda but for now, it’s time to do some work on the bikes.

Well from one bike mechanic to another I am jealous!

I woul dlove to have planned ahead and put my lift in the floor. however, my concrete is only 4-5" thick. I already coated the floor as well.

Nice setup you got there!

Nice. The gloss red was a bold move.

For the last 10 years I had red on the bottom 3' and the rest white. I saw someone on here with solid red and I liked it. It's only paint so I figured I'd try it. The gloss is nice because it's easier to keep clean.

Once I get more shelving and some signs and posters on the wall I think it will be slightly less shocking. A little shocking is good though...

Great job StevieMac, love the red and as you mentioned if you get tired of it, it's only paint ...

Been thinking about getting a lift to do a little maintenance or polishing on the Wing. Excellent idea of recessing it into the floor. Also, what brand of cabinets did you install? Great looking set-up!

They are just old kitchen cabinets.

Thanks for the compliments everyone :)
