That's exactly why George (neighbor) put these in there.
In some ways I agree. Having done this a couple of times its really nice seeing the color down without the flakes. George wanted a Granite look so the flakes were part of the process.
From memory it was about 1.5 wheels. The floor concrete was really hard. The walls not so much but they took much longer to grind since George wanted them flat and I also beveled them.
I enjoy seeing new floors go down so I check this forum out often.
This floor looks pretty much as it did when it first went down. I'll see if I can get some uptodate photos.
. I used Endurashield and Supergrip 850 as the top coat. I have slight yellowing past the garage door edges and the saw cuts in the floor which I filled with Integra Flex 1921, have fine cracks. The surface has stood up great to engine hoists, trolley jacks, axle stands (with nothing underneath), dropped spanners etc. Weld splatter leaves a burn mark on the surface that you can disolve with acetone if it bothers you, it does not burn through. Dropped a rear axle at one time and that dug into the floor about 3/8" taking the epoxy with it but leaving the surrounding area intact. I am very pleased with how robust and how nice it looks.
