Just bought a house and cleaned up the garage today. Not much to look at now but I have lots of plans for the near future.

1. Rustoleum epoxy floor
2. Install pegboard over the sheetrock
3. Build workbench the length of the back wall
4. Scape off the ugly popcorn ceiling

Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated

I see potential. It looks like a good space. I would recommend really good lighting and to figure out how you want to use the garage and plan the lighting accordingly.

I do a good deal of woodworking as a hobby. When the garage is done I plan on getting a project bike as well. Probably a mid to late 70s Honda CB. I haven't really thought about the lighting yet.

The best advice I can give you is not to put anything in your garage until done.

Measure your vehicles and keep enough room to move around, but not too much, you don't want to walk a marathon every time you fix something to get your tools.
Plan a lot of cabinets and work surface, it fills up fast.
Draw a few sketch, plan spaces for the tall stuff, mid size small and loose stuff are best in drawers for easy acces.

Hey CarWashGuy...
Where are you at? I'm in the KC/Liberty area. That is good that you have the electrical panel in your garage...easy to run a new curcuit for lights, and a 220volt outlet somewhere in there.
Plan on some good primer/paint to cover up that drywall.
Is that a heating/cooling register in the last picture? If so, I thought that was againist code?
Happy moving in!

bad5x8,

I live right across Barry Road from Zona Rosa. That is a heating and cooling register which was there when we closed on the house. I'll have to look into it, never thought about it being against code.

Although I live up north I work in Leawood, KS. If you're ever in that area and need a car wash I'll hook you up.

Popcorn is easily removed with a common pump garden sprayer and a nice putty knife.Just wet small areas at a time with nice warm water and let soak. Then go after it with the knife and it will come off.

Just put down some cheap painters plastic as it is going to be a little messy.

Leave the plastic down until you recoat the ceiling and that will minimize the mess that you will need for prep on your new expoxy floor.

If done as described there will be no dust.
