I've just purchased these two Carolus ratchets off eBay (I'm in the UK but got them shipped over from Madrid)

Carolus are part of the German Gedore group, & the quality is 1st class

This first one is a nice flex head bit ratchet. The ratchet increment isn't as fine as the other ratchet below, but for £3.50 I can't complain!
Pulling back the green sprung plastic button allows the head to flex, then letting go locks it in the relevant position
(Locks in 7 positions)

Both are part of the Carolus Readyflex range.

This 1/4" drive ratchet has the same flexi action as the above, but the ratchet increment is slightly finer
i got this beauty for just over £7

Yes they're made in Germany
Here's a link I found:
http://www.gedore.com/en/produkte/ausgabe.html?pm_id=85024&pcon_list=31304,85009,85010,85024

Looking at the pricelist I received in the post, the list price for the bit ratchet item no 7226.00 is £47.66 & for the 1/4" drive ratchet item no 7290.30 is £47.66, so I think I did quite well considering the items are brand new!
There's some neat sets listed in the catalogue & I think I'll keep my eyes open for a 3/8" drive flex ratchet (like the 6290) thats similar to the one above

I'll get some decent photos of the ratchets tomorrow

Lets see at current exchange rates the list prices put them in the 90 - 95 dollar range in the US. So if sold here would be more unless you can find a deal like this, Snap on at 62-81 dollars in the current catalog is more of a bargain here.

Kinda explains why you may not have heard about them here. We had more European tools but they got to pricey, then the Japanese good ones did the same thing.

Still you love when E-bay goes that way when shopping, that fits the hell of a deal category.
