Looks like my first welder. I seem to remember you had to shut it off to change amperage. Some kind of hand brake sort of arrangement to change amperage. It was a dandy welder, but the reason I sprang for a DialArc when I could afford it.
You don't have to shut off the power to it to change range. You just need to not be "arcing" while changing ranges. It does appear very similar to the old Century's. Pretty fool proof machines! Enjoy!
The seller is not the original user, she said it comes with the cables "even though they are not in the picture". I am not sure if that includes carbon arc torch. Made by Century (which is why it went so cheap). DC Lincolns or Millers go for $250ish around here (SoCal). I am so looking forward to getting rid of my ac welder.
Dang, that's a steal. I thought I did good when I bought the same welder (in worse shape) off craigslist a few months ago for $150! I sold it to my BIL...
I've seen another guy locally advertising his for over $500!
That's a sweet welder, and, as allenb12 mentioned, insanely heavy for a buzzbox!
