water leak. had to remove the carpets in order to dehumidify the interior

LOL, I know I'm just buggin' you. My stalls are right next to the light body guy at work. I see this all the time. Now, back on topic....I'm waiting for my SO man to get one of those on the truck so I can demo it, they look promising!

So...now that you have some trigger time what do you think overall. Any dislikes? Is it heavy? loud as hell? Does that electric brake work well? Would you change anything?

i like it. i've only had it for 3 days. its not gonna replace my air gun when I'm in my bay. it is heavy when compared to my air gun, probably double the weight. the light is very bright and the anvil brake feature works better than i thought, it stops as soon as u release the trigger.

i don't like how batteries and charger aren't compatible with the older ones. now i have to find a spot for another charger. it came with a tote bag which is a lot more useful than the stupid black cases that sat behind my box for a year before i decide to throw them out

I have the 6850 and love it, especially for side work. However, I wouldn't want to use it for interior work. The cordless 3/8" is much lighter, and has plenty of power for all but the most stubborn seat bolts.

totally agree with u on the cordless 3/8. it is definitely the most useful tool i own. without it, my paycheck would be smaller.

From appearances the 7850 seems to be the big brother of the cordless 3/8 impact which I have. If it's anything like this trusty tool then I'll have one.

All of them I've handled are variable speed triggered, I wonder if your buddy's has a bad trigger. Thats one of the selling points.:headscrat

I liked the impact so much I picked up the drill to replace my 2004 Milwaukee hammer drill. Once I move i'll do a comparison between the two.

The included light was a promo. I didnt get it with the impact but did with the drill. Pretty darn bright little lite. You had to preorder sets to get the light at nc

Chad,

The kits here include the bag, two batteries, the charger and the light. Do they have different deals in different sales areas?

They only come with the light if a dealer ordered the 4 pack (3 impacts, one drill). The normal kit configuration does not include the light.

Snap On dealers, do you know if the CT6850 or CT6855 is going to be discontinued? I see that both of these are not in stock right now so I suspect that is the case. Any details?

nope no plans to discontinue it... They put more effort into the new guns that are selling like crazy. I need a 3 7850's and 2 6850's just to fill backorders...

They are currently taking orders for the CT6850 all the way thru June so there are no immediate plans to discontinue. I would imagine it would depend on how sales are on the CT6850/6855 going forward now that the 7850 is available.

Just curious I don't own any cordless snap on tools but I just bought the 12volt Dewalt cordless impact and that little beast just wrecks havoc on any thing it touches; it is very lightweight and just a joy to use. I don't know how much the CT7850 costs new but my dewalt was not all that much money.

I also own the 18volt size and that is also very nice but it weighs a ton did you not like the dewalt line of tools?

What makes the CT7850 so special?

Thank you for that information, I did learn that it weighs less then my 18 volt dewalt and it does come with a light. I was just wondering can you take the battery pack to a batteries plus shop and get it rebuilt; or do you need to get that done by snap on?

Thanks Woody:)

You'd be hard pressed to find any place to rebuild Li ion batteries now.

truckdriver i think you are correct.
as long as we can still get the nicad batteries we will keep running with the ct6850 and as long as they keep selling of course.

I have a Milwaukee 28V cordless impact and it's great. I use it mainly for lugnuts, but I've used it for other things, too. Only issue I have is that it's hard to fit in some places, but I think the newer units of all brands are smaller.
